"Cool concept. Their goal is to make it feel like you have the property to yourself (small number of villas, off the beaten path), and they achieved that goal (at least for our two night stay). Spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Howler monkeys live in their part of the forest, and howl in the morning and evening. Solid restaurant. Friendly personalities. Marlon (waiter at restaurant) was particularly personable, great conversationalist. Don't ignore their guidance that a 4x4 is needed to access the property, the road from Uvita to this property is quite steep and slippery."

"Our stay at MadreSelva was amazing. We were a bit nervous about having Carolina and Rume around the house during the week but they took care of the house and grounds beautifully and discreetly. We hardly knew the were there and yet took care of our breakfast and did light housekeeping and laundry during the week. It made our trip that much more pleasurable.All the previous homes we've stayed in provided A/C in the bedrooms of which we were hoping for; however, the two front bedrooms definitely did not need A/C. The back bedrooms didn't get the same air flow but there were portable fans in the rooms to help keep the air flowing.Overall, I would give this home a 5-star rating. There was plenty of space for our party of 10 people so we could spread out. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The bedrooms had comfortable beds (I would suggest replacing some or all of the pillows as they were quite flat), and overall comfortable living areas indoors and outdoors. The view was incredible and the house is quite secluded which is a huge plus! We would definitely stay at this home again!"

"The property is fantastic with the most amazing view of the city and Whale tail. Conveniently located to Catarata Uvita (waterfalls) and several wonderful restaurants nearby (you must try Seba’s!). We also enjoyed the Whale Tail brewery. Property owner was very helpful and Jeison (the manager) was a really nice guy too. Would definitely stay again! "

"This place is spectacular. The photos and the listing do not do it justice. The house is simple but very grand and the views are spectacular. We were blown away by the tropical views in every directions. Tucans visited every morning and evening. One of the best places we had ever stayed hands down. We would love to come stay again. Highlight of our trip. The house does need some minor repairs - front deadbolt is out of alignment. Very tough to lock and unlock. Dishwasher made clean dishes dirty. Probably just needs filters cleaned. Kitchen faucet is clogged and the pressure was minimal. And the mini ants were intense if you left food out on the counters. The incredible bathtub put back doesn’t hold water! All easy fixes and did not affect our ability to LOVE this place. "

"This place is beautiful! We loved the pool and waking up to all of the birds around the property. The listing photos don't do the place justice, it is even better in person. The road up is tough, but it made it part of the adventure. Check in and out were easy and the hosts were easy to contact throughout the stay. Will miss the view!"
