"It was really a magical experience! The woods were like an old European forest and provided plenty of privacy. There was a short hike to get to the bubble though so pack light. We did have a problem where the heat went out, and it was unable to be fixed until the next morning. That really put a damper on my wife's stay, but the hosts were gracious and allowed a partial refund. "

"The property has a lot of history and charm. We stayed in a cottage type room with a loft. The breakfast was very good and served in a room with a viking theme. The restaurant next door was excellent too."

"Service is great, although they made a couple of errors around our booking. (Wrong beds -- twins, not queen/king -- and did not follow through with a request to clean the room one day.) But they always recognized the error and did their best to set it to rights. The Spa is wonderful: a set of really nicely designed pools and a sauna. It's a definite treat. The Hygge caffe on the ground floor is wonderful, something we'd heard about and were determined to find...and there it was in our own hotel. Watch for Mango, one of the many cats who seemingly run Reykjavik. "

"A bit of a walk from the city center but not too bad. A few good dining options within 5 min walking distance. Gym is a bit too small, there are actually quite a lot of people using it in the morning. Breakfast options vary, some days they have more options than others. "

"A unique hotel situated in a remote location, only 40 minutes drive from Reykjavik, and on the golden circle route. The welcome drink was appreciated. Worth mentioning are the wonderful staff, always welcoming, professional, kind and service with a smile. The Swedish male waiter at dinner was super! The rooms were nicely decorated, clean, and quiet. It got a bit hot during the night but opening the window cooled it quickly. The bar at the front of the hotel was great for enjoying a pre-dinner drink, and the barman kindly concocted a mocktail for our children. Breakfast was thumbs up from the whole family. Worth staying for an authentic Iceland experience. "
