"Great staff, great food. The beach is beautiful and very peaceful and private. The bungalow rooms have small kitchenettes and very comfortable beds. Very quiet to sleep at night. Great reef to snorkel right off of the dock at this property. Included breakfast was excellent every day. Their restaurant also serves great lunches and dinners till 8pm. Free WiFi is available on the entire premises. Recommend renting a car because nothing is in walking distance from this property. There is no pool only the beautiful beach and ocean. They do have a boat on property that does snorkeling tours and sunset cruises. They do rent snorkeling gear for $15 for your entire stay and include free usage of kayaks and paddle boards. Great place to stay and family friendly. Only about 10 rooms available on site. Highly recommend!!!"

"Our stay at Barmels Villa was very disappointing and stressful from beginning to end. Communication was poor from the start. We attempted to contact the staff multiple times before arrival but received no response. Check-in was especially difficult because we did not receive any instructions until the day we arrived. We had to call the number listed on Orbitz, where a cleaning staff member answered and helped us access the property. Later, staff from Las Palmas Hotel contacted the owner so we could finally receive the code to enter the room. When we entered the villa, it was not properly prepared. The air conditioner did not work, and although the weather was manageable, this is still unacceptable. Basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were not provided. There were four guests, but only three towels were available. Several maintenance issues made the stay uncomfortable and unsafe. Two window blinds were stuck halfway open, leaving no privacy. Ceiling lights were not working, and there was no proper supply of toilet paper, only a partially used roll. We also found ants in the room. Most concerning was the unsafe bunk bed. The ladder was missing screws and was rusted. On the first night, one of the children was injured and scratched her thigh badly enough to bleed. We attempted to contact the owner immediately but received no response. We reached out to Orbitz for assistance, but they were unable to get a response from the property either."

"No transportation from airport. No pool. No restaurant. No wi-fi unless you sign up for staff phone when checking in. No staff on site after you check- in. No brochures to give you ideas of things to do or maps to find way around Roatan. Only 1/3 roll toilet paper in room- no stock or housekeeping available. Make shift haphazard and exposed rigged wiring. Rusty wire soap holder mounted in the shower, sink would not drain, multiple little packets “poison” lying in planters on veranda, film of slime in corners, rickety and winding stairs and horrible driveway at near 90 degree incline BUT awesome views of ocean. "

"There is construction going on the 3rd floor and I was given a room right next to it. I booked to have a peaceful night stay before my flight in the morning and I was not able to get any rest. The room itself is clean. There was also some guy sleeping in the construction area/hallway which scared me as I was the only one on this floor and I heard movement in the night and saw him. The security talked to him but I’m not sure if he just lives there in the hallway? Didn’t feel safe as a solo woman. "

"Unbelievable experience! Bungalows over the water are amazing, The staff is friendly and accommodating. We are foodies and everything was absolutely delicious. A totally relaxing vacation. There was no stress booking activities. You can do as much or as little as you want. Snorkeling even right off the resort is world class. Swimming with a baby dolphin unforgettable. Night snorkeling, island party on Wed evening - do not miss. Highly recommend resort. We will be back. "

My husband and I traveled with our elderly parents, and it was the perfect place for all of us to relax and enjoy quality family time. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up so everyone felt at ease.What we appreciated the most was how accommodating the space was for our parents. Everything was clean, easy to access, and very comfortable for them, which made the trip stress-free for our whole family. They truly enjoyed every moment sitting outside, taking in the peaceful surroundings, and simply relaxing together.The home itself was spotless, well stocked, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell the hosts take great pride in making sure guests feel welcome. It felt less like a rental and more like a home away from home.This trip created such special memories for our family, especially being able to spend this time with our parents in such a beautiful place. "The house is gorgeous and view is beautiful! We had unfortunate weather during our stay so we’re not able to enjoy the pool, but the house was amazing to be able to watch the weather.It is very easy to access and quick to get to West End, West Bay and excursions to East End as well. Our husbands were able to get some fishing in on the central dock even with the poor weather.Hoping to return when weather is more cooperative to be able to enjoy outside as well!"
