"An interesting hotel with 70s-80s decore. A feeling of the past however with a view to the future with serious commitment to green credentials. A slow food restaurant extends the good feeling of solar power, and recycled papers in the bathrooms and dining rooms. The shower was a little small and flimsy but the water was good and hot and the heating was hydronic . Staff were excellent. Only a short walk from a beautiful town and the station. "La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day. There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening.If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

"I stayed here on a whim. I’m a 43 year old Canadian (female & mother) travelling completely unplanned day-to-day and prefer “off the beaten path” this place was actually amazing! Such a welcomed posh, beautiful, sophisticated spot! Staff were so lovely! I can not recommend a stay here enough! Every detail was amazing! Worth every cent! (Food and wine was exquisite too!)"
