"I recommend the Black Horse. Very quiet and restful. The main building (pub & restaurant) is quite old and interesting with multiple levels and interior structures. The Garden Area was a delightful area for a pint and dinner, service was friendly as was the check-in. The grounds are sloped creating an inviting green impression. "Really lovely stay in this quiet little Oast House. We stayed in a round room, beautifully decorated with ensuite shower room. Tea and coffee and biscuits, TV in room. Plenty of drawers and cupboard space for clothes. Room clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely, and everyone was so friendly. We also had an excellent roast dinner on the Sunday. Just a short walk into Rye, which was a bonus. Would totally recommend it, and we hope to stay there again. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely old inn. The ensuite bathroom was amazing for such an old place. Very modern, very clean with a good-sized and fully powered shower and a nice area set aside with a make-up mirror. The landlord was very friendly. A good location for walking in the countryside or visiting the many nearby homes and gardens. We'll stay there again."

A bit disappointed that breakfast was not served until 9.00 am, although they did offer me a take away hamper. This was a business trip so I could not hang around for breakfast. "The flat was in a great location and Martyn the host was very helpful. It’s a large, light and airy space with 2 good sized bedrooms and a huge lounge/diner (though we tended to eat in the kitchen). The decor is very neutral & everywhere is very clean. We would definitely stay again."
