"We had a beach view room which was spacious and had an absolutely stunning view over the beach and cliffs over a distance. We came to the island for my son’s fossil hunting. He’s 9. We listened to the high tides at night, absolutely worth it. Even with the window open, it’s still warm during the day in the winter. Will revisit. "

"Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return."

"No response to emails either direct to the pilot boat or via hotels.com; entry requirements not provided in advance and when provided were not the same as advertised. 2 promises to provide the door code by text were not fulfilled. Breakfast advertised but not provided. Room well supplied but cold on arrival and didn’t warm up until en of day 2. The bed was comfortable but we have stayed in previous years and the service is not as good now. "
