Beautiful surroundings. Relaxing environment. Staff is beyond courteous and attentive. Food is excellent and abundant. Hot springs are scenic and reinvigorating.

From the very start to the very finish of our stay, my family and I felt so very welcomed. The hotel was extremely clean and orderly. This particular hotel is very cozy. The onsen bath/ ofuro was extremely relaxing, clean, and refreshing. The staff are above and beyond professional and extremely courteous. We will definitely come back to stay at this hotel. We highly recommend this hotel after a long day of hiking and sightseeing.

The food is super good.

Miyama Ouan offers an authentic Japanese cultural experience in beautiful high country/alpine location. Meals were of a variety of ingredients, delicious and always beautifully presented. Miyama Ouan rooms are very comfortable, warm, beautifully cleaned, with private and public onsen. The Hirayu location is in close proximity for bush walking, sight seeing, and to the cable car and bear ranch.

Wow this was such a highlight of our trip! Def wortg the trip! The onsen was amazing,the rooms were beautiful ,the dinner and breakfast experience delicious,and the staff super sweet. One thing to note, this is about an hr bus ride from Takayama station! We cut it really close because we didn't realize how far it was, if you get there after a certain time,they can't serve you dinner so plan accordingly

We stayed here two nights while traveling to kamikochi and shinhotoka ropeway, the staff were super sweet and spoke English and Japanese! There is no restaurant on the property but they have a map of a few within walking distance! The Onsens were so nice, and the rooms were so clean! Would definitely stay again!

Quiet and peaceful in the mountains

This was by far the best place we stayed during our time in the Kamikochi area. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Ryokan Sansui is a peaceful retreat with beautiful mountain views, private outdoor onsen rooms, and the most dedicated, attentive and kind staff. We felt completely pampered by their service and hospitality. The meals were traditional omekase using local and seasonal ingredients. The food is clearly made with love, pride, and care. This is a hotel in the middle of mountain in Hirayu area. Above the cleanness, comfort level..... I stay there couple of days. The hotel staff pick me up to bus station in Hirayu (5 Km away). I saying that the hotel does not have any officially shuttle program. They are go out their way to help me catch up with the bus schedule so i do not waste my time of bus station for waiting. And most importantly i have enough time to visit Kamokochi national park. I really appreciate the altitude...

A wonderful dinner was included in our stay. The chef came out to explain each dish. There is an outdoor bathtub that is amazing.
