"The hotel is a bit old. It's great if you're looking to stay in a property with a historical aspect. Check-in was troubling. I don't recall on the Hotel's description here on Expedia or on their own website that the deposit was $400 up front. I stayed for 6 days so that should have been around $170. "My father and I stayed at the hotel for several days while visiting San Francisco. This hotel was a time capsule. We met the owner several times and he has done his best to keep the hotel in its original condition when it opened in 1912. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and well managed. Outside the hotel was a bus stop and subway station. If you are looking for a simple quaint hotel this fits the bill. Thanks "
