"Room was clean but no heating and no way to turn it on. Quite noisy through the night as people going from room to room ( late) Suppose our fault to book a room on top of a pub"

"What a find in a beautiful area. Short trip off the A1 and absolutely stunning pub with rooms. Rooms were great, comfortable clean and has everything you will need for a good stay. Dinner was really tasty. Didn’t stop for breakfast but can only imagine how nice it would be. Would definitely recommend and would stay next time I am in the area "

"Great location in centre of York, walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants and the Barbican centre. Room itself was dated, no central heating, just two small stand-alone heaters (which did heat the room) and small bathroom with shower. Tea and coffee facilities were a nice touch. "

"The staff walked into my room while i was in bed, there was a mess up on the system and they thought the room was empty. "

"Spacious room and bathroom (located in converted stables behind the pub) with TV and plentiful tea/coffee supplies. Wifi connection a bit limited in the room, but excellent in the pub itself. Friendly staff."

The bar/ restaurant was a great place to hang out with friendly staff and great food. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a small slice of beautiful Yorkshire on your travels. "
