"Super friendly staff and very clean rooms. Continental breakfast was excellent and had a diverse selection of food from scrambled eggs, sausage and toast to biscuits and gravy and DIY waffles. The grounds are beautifully kept and the restaurant serves food that tastes like home cooking your mom would serve. We’ve stayed at the hotel before and haven’t had a bad experience or complaint with the rooms or service. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway weekend with beautiful grounds and exceptional food within walking distance, the Das Essenhaus is an exceptional choice."

"Overall the stay was great. There was one inconvenience that kept me from giving a 5 star rating. The pool was well maintained, the breakfast was good, and the room was spacious and nice. I had called the night before and the lady at the front desk was extremely nice and they allowed me to check in early which worked perfect with my schedule. The only issue I had was the day of checkout, my key cards stopped working. We had our hands full of breakfast taking it back to the room, with 2 kids so not being able to get into the room with our hands full was frustrating. They weren’t able to remotely activate it so we had to walk all the way back to the front desk to get the keycards working. It seems like a very avoidable issue but besides that we enjoyed our stay."

"The room & hotel itself, was very nice. I appreciated seeing the handmade quilts displayed on the walls throughout. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. They are in the process of building a new pool area. The current hot tub is closed down & the pool was usable, but dirty & needs maintenance. This is a big Amish community, so pretty much everything was closed on Sunday."

"The only thing we had trouble with was the remote control for the TV. We had to have the desk clerk have a try to turn down sound or change a channel and TV would not listen to her cause buttons were mini-size and you had to push up or down on them to try to operate. It had nothing to do with remote needing batteries. Otherwise, they had coffee available in the morning and a nice variety of fruit. Would stay here again."
