"We had a wonderful one week stay at Solas Alainn! The chalet is more spacious in person than the photos depict, but is ideal for 2 people. It was bright, clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed, including a washer/dryer. The kitchen had plenty of storage for food and the full stove was great for cooking. Every single window has the most incredible views. Storm Beolo rolled in during our stay which was quite the experience! Mark and Charlyn were excellent and attentive hosts, going above and beyond.
The location of the chalet is perfect for seeing many of the popular sights without feeling like you’re in a touristy area. The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, An Corran, and Quiraing are all less than 15 minute drive (and a short walk to the beach). Portree is a little under 30 minutes drive. There are two little stores and the Hungry Gull within walking distance as well. It was about a 45 minute drive to Uig (go to lunch at the Stein Inn!) and 1:15 to west coast villages. Every drive is through beautiful scenery, so you hardly feel the time pass.
