"We had a very enjoyable stay at the Scone Arms. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and the improvements already completed look fantastic. Our room had been fully renovated and was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The bar area has been completely updated and has a fresh, welcoming atmosphere. "Probably the best thing about the hotel,was that it was very central. The bed that my partner and I shared was the most uncomfortable sleep that both of us had ever had.there was I big dip in the mattress.we never tried the food because a local advised us not to."

"The hotel looks nothing like the photographs. It is run down and poorly maintained. It is grubby. The whole hotel reeks of chemicals - bleach and chlorine. Even in the corridors on the second floor. It was really bad in our room which was tiny and airless with a window facing a brick will. Felt ill with the smell. Chose the hotel for the spa facilities but left without checking it out due to the overall cleanliness and stench."
