While it is true that the front desk offered an alternative room, the replacement room was in significantly worse condition than the original. Due to the lack of any acceptable alternatives and the unavailability of other hotels at that time, we had no choice but to remain in the same property despite the unacceptable conditions. The cleanliness and overall hygiene of both rooms were far below acceptable standards. This was not a minor inconvenience—it directly impacted our comfort, health, and overall travel experience. We have clear photographic evidence documenting the poor and unsanitary conditions, which we are prepared to provide upon request. It is also important to note that declining a worse room should not invalidate our complaint. The core issue remains unresolved: the hotel failed to provide a clean, safe, and habitable environment as expected and advertised. Given these circumstances, I am formally requesting a full or partial refund for this stay. The service received did not meet basic hospitality standards, and it is only fair that appropriate compensation is provided. Please review this matter again seriously. I expect a prompt and fair resolution. If needed, I am willing to escalate this issue further. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Kind regar"

"Brilliant stay, lovely hotel and really big rooms. Lovely view, and was a pleasure to stay there. The staff were brilliant and we had a lovely stay. Would recommend it to anyone"

"Get the breakfast . It is excellent . Nice hotel in a great spot to get to laces like the marina , aquarium and night market "

"Didn't order breakfast, room clean but needs to be refurbished. Ironing board had no padding hence needed to put towel under to allow clothes to iron properly. Cost $22 to park the car. Much better places in Cairns, probably won't stay again same price or below. Bed and pillows comfortable. "

"Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and well accommodated... lots of plug outlets for modern travelers. (Free movies that we did not take advantage of as the weather was too good to be indoors.) Bathroom supplies were wonderful and plentiful. The espresso machine in the common area was fantastic. Location was also very good... within 2 blocks of everything we wanted to do and visit. There was also free laundry... here you need to patient as there is only one washer and dryer for 32 units... but the machines were modern and detergent and softener are included. We were very impressed with everything!"

"The were two curtain tracks in the first room we stayed at, but only one fabric curtain. This was not a problem on the first night (although it is nice when curtain tracks overlap so there is not a gap where the curtains meet). On the second night, it was a problem as several very bright bursts of light came through the curtains throughout the night - bright enough to wake me up when I had dozed off. In our second room, there were two curtains - one made of blockout fabric and one sheer. A much better arrangement."
