"This property is old and it shows it. The rooms look like they are from the 1980s and smell musty. But it is clean except for the Pull-out sofa which had old popcorn under the mattress which smelled bad. Their breakfast buffet was stellar, and they were very friendly. It looked like the rooms on the first floor had been renovated so hopefully the upper floor is in progress."

"A sleepy motel look from the outside but like a comfortable home inside. We loved staying at the Shell Beach Inn in a quiet part of Pismo. The suite is more like a one bedrroom owners accomodation, Rm 11 and definately would stay again. Some traffic noise, but, the beds have ear plugs on the night stands. To save money, you could stay in rm 9 which we saw & was equally welcoming. Dont forget to enjoy their pool too."

"Cottage Inn is one of our favorites to stay at. Great location, great amenities and helpful staff. We love their pool and jacuzzi and their fire pit areas are great after a long day walking/playing on the beach. During our stay, they were doing lots of maintenance work, but notified us that morning of the first day of work about the expected noise. This has become one of our go-to places when we are in the Pismo area. While they don’t have a free breakfast, they do have pay options down in the hotel lobby area. They do offer free coffee and filtered water for hotel guests. The only complaint we really have is the daily parking fee - maybe consider a flat fee/discount if staying more than one day."
