About this property
Marsh Front Home with Deep Water Dock on White Chimney River-Shellman Bluff.
Enjoy our little slice of heaven in a secluded, private, marsh front home with stunning river and marsh views where you can enjoy classic low country living on an acre of peacefulness. Bring your boat, kayak, and inner tubes so you can enjoy time on the White Chimney River from our private, deep-water dock. From the dock, you can enjoy swimming, fishing, crabbing, and catching shrimp. The property also includes large, live oak trees accented by Spanish moss which accompany beautiful sunrise and sunset views from the dock and home.
Our ranch style house includes three bedrooms and two full bathrooms which can accommodate up to six guests. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, full-bathroom, and work station for those balancing responsibilities while trying to get away. One guest bedroom includes a queen bed, while the second guest bedroom has a full size bed. The main hallway connects to each guest bedroom, the second full bathroom, the laundry room, and another work table area. It is an older home, but well-kept and clean, with lots of character!
Property includes a private, large, covered, fixed dock and a 25x10 foot long floating dock where you can tie your boat up during your stay. White Chimney River is a tidal river with a 6 to 9 foot tide coming in/out twice a day. Thus, there can be a strong current, so bring a life jacket for anyone who plans to swim off the dock. The property includes ample parking for your vehicle(s) and boat trailer.
We are located within walking distance of the White Chimney Public Pier and boat ramp or a quick five minute drive to the Shellman Bluff boat lift at Shellman's Fish Camp. By boat, we are about five miles from Sapelo Sound and 14 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Along with both in-shore and off-shore fishing, the area offers great beaches on Blackbeard, Sapelo, and St. Catherines Islands that are accessible by boat.
If you golf, the Sapelo Hammock Golf Club is just minutes away. There are lots of great restaurants and bars in the Shellman Bluff area. For those seeking to explore, Darien is roughly 30 minutes south, Savannah's River Street is just under an hour north, and Saint Simons Island is about 45 minutes south of our house.

Excellent host, very accommodating and quick to respond. Very clean house with plenty of space, ample parking access to dock and navigable water to Sapelo sound. Quiet neighborhood with minimal traffic for a peaceful getaway. Kitchen is nice and well supplied with items for food prep even though we mostly ate at local restaurants. Basically it checks all of our boxes and we plan to return.
Great house, comfy and homey! Loved relaxing and fishing on the dock, breathing in that unmistakable saltwater marsh scent. The little gator kept us company each low tide and crabs were having fun stealing our bait. :)
Great stay while fishing Shellman Bluff. Dock was excellent and very close to public ramp so it made things much easier to come and go as we pleased. House had plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and full kitchen. Plenty of parking space outside which was nice with boat and trailer. Netted bait shrimp right off dock so this set up made for a great fishing weekend. I would add that this would be an excellent place for kayak fishing as there are many interesting fishing areas along the river that are productive and protected from weather and boat traffic.
This was our third time starting at this house. We love it, just like before. Fishing all day, playing games at night (tons available at the house) or watching funny videos on YouTube in the cozy living room. I drew the blinds up in the living room, bedrooms and the kitchen, because all have the beautiful marsh and the river out back. Love the kitchen at this house too. Loaded up on blue crabs, Bait shops just minutes away. Perfect vacation!
We love the location in the Salt Marshes. Lots of aquatic birds. Local dining was good. Kitchen was spacious. It would have been great if there was a grab bar in the showers.
The property was convenient to everything that we wanted to do: Harris Neck, Hofwyl, Darien, Shellman Bluff, & and was a very easy drive for my mother to drive up from St Simons
