"This is a great choice when you are visiting Tromso! The Comfort Xpress is very budget friendly and has a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. It is centrally located, the staff members are friendly and efficient, and it is quiet. (I was here for the Midnight Sun Marathon and was surprised by how peaceful it was even being so close to the city center.)"
"The hotel is in a wonderful location right in downtown Tromso. It is a beautiful hotel and we had an incredible view from our room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Norah at check in was extremely helpful and kind. She helped us figure out the parking situation since there is none at the hotel. There are restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance. There is also a great restaurant right in the hotel. We enjoyed our stay."
"Great room, great location. Parking a car was a bit of a drag since I had to park in an underground garage not on premise but other than that it was great!
Parking is 3-5 minute walk from the hotel in a sister hotel"
"We stayed at this hotel when extensive renovations were ongoing (something that neither the hotel or Expedia advertised!); it was so noisy when we arrived at 5:30pm that we could not hear the reception staff properly. We were advised that the builders would stop at 6:00pm and recommence at 8:00am the next morning (however the work continued that evening until just past 7:00pm) we were offered an alternative room but this seemed less spacious due to the layout and it wouldn’t have made a significant difference with the noise issue. The room was modern, clean and had a fabulous view, tea and coffee facilities in the room was a welcome touch.It was well situated close to Tromso town with plenty of shops & restaurants. Breakfast was fine. We could only think that perhaps an addition of a safe in the room would be a helpful feature- and of course being upfront with customers with bookings already made and those looking to book about possible disruption with noise."
"Very pleasant staff. Great location only 10 minutes walk from bus station and close to all city centre activities. Comfy bed and good shower. Lovely view from our room. Very nice breakfast.
However, the lift was out of action and had been for over a month. If I had known this I would have changed hotels. My husband has problems walking so it was difficult for us to walk up and down to the 2nd floor. We were offered a room on the first floor but it would have been a small room which we didn’t want.
The room has nowhere to store clothes at all apart from 3 coat hangers and a shelf I couldn’t reach. No pegs in the bathroom.
The complimentary dinner is poor quality, more like care home food and the cake in the afternoon is cheap factory made cake.
We stayed in a Home hotel in Sundsvall, Sweden and the food was SO much better. It’s a shame they are not the same standard."
