"I was disappointed with the poor service at the buffet. It’s not about the food. The service staff were not welcoming at all. I paid for half board. The first night of the buffet, we had two cokes besides our normal food. While we were about to leave, the head waiter very loudly that all can hear, called us and said we need to pay for the cokes we consumed. I try to apologize to him. But, he turned away from us. That is vey insulting. For 1200/- you would embarrass us like that in front of all of the guest and staff. From that time forward we did not go to the already buffet at all. I had very high hopes for this hotel, since this is one of the oldest and renowned hotel in Colombo. But, the service staff need more coaching in customer engagement and it needs to start from top down. You lost two customers."

"Everything was perfect! The staff were incredibly hospitable and the hotel was very welcoming. Food was amazing and such a vast selection, would definitely recommend getting the breakfast package. Perfect for a relaxing break spent by a pool. "

"Second time here but somewhat disappointed. Felt prices were much higher than before so next time I will try another hotel as Colombo has so many nice hotels on offer. Staff are very nice, rooms were clean but the hatch in ceiling fell down exposing a big hole. Had that fallen on husbands head (as he is tall enough ) it would have hurt him badly. "
