"Very old fashioned and dirty. Desperately in need of urgent renovation. Other options exist nearby that are much better."

"- Breakfast is very basic, would not recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else. - Bedrooms are very dirty and smelly. - Checked in to my bedroom which had a dirty toilet full of stains, the toilet would not flush properly. Water running thru the whole night. Sink getting blocked everytime you would open the tap. - Curtains don’t cover the window properly so you have direct sunlight coming into the room. - Windows are extremely thin so you would hear the cars, all thru the night. -Only positive thing is that the staff is very nice and goes above and beyond."

"The hotel was good for our stay for racing as near the course. However the breakfast was disappointing and the coffee was cold so I couldn’t drink it. We requested a refund for the breakfast and after some wrangling it was refunded. However what I am most disappointed with is the automated system the Copthorne chain now implemented and being told the staff can’t override anything. For example a later check out, which we requested cannot be arranged as a matter of discretion due to the system. Hotels are a hospitality industry and as such human interaction is absolutely required at front desk level and is very much appreciated. It falls very short in comparison to hotels which can accommodate requests and services, instead of being told “we can’t do this/that” because of a fixed system."

Crazy Bear Hotel-Beaconsfield

"We were shown to our allocated room, the snug. As the pictures show the room was dark with air conditioning . We asked receptionist for WiFi code and informed it is shown on TV. The TV and remote control wouldn't work and we were told there was a problem so we would be upgraded to a different location which had the bath placed at the foot of the bed. This indeed was wonderful. The room was clean and WiFi did indeed work. We are at the tai restaurant which was wonderful. The air conditioning seemed noisy but certainly kept a room with no opening windows cool. The only complaint was the communal toilets, mens and womans were so dark you couldn't see where the actual toilet cubicles were. One had a broken lock in the woman's and the other one was blocked with toilet paper. We want to add that all the staff, receptionists, tai restaurant staff and breakfast staff were lovely. A special mention to the waiter from the bar who assisted in finding out what a particular ice cream flavour was!"

"Amenities are very good. Sauna, Steam room and Family swimming. However, not so soundproof. People stamping and running around on corridors. Group gym starts early and you can hear the music from even 2 floors up. Paid extra for comfort but seems like it was better off booking at Travelodge, at least I expect less. Shower poorly maintained. Mould formation on the. shower."

"I am wary of doing chain hotels but chose to stay here due to the location and the fact it boasted a "fitness facility". The location was convenient as it was sited at a Welcome Break services. I was able to park close to the entrance. I was warmly greeted but on checking in found out that there was a separate £5 charge for overnight parking which was not disclosed at the outset of booking the accommodation. There were multiple dining options either within the services complex or at the hotel restaurant. I over-indulged but was happy to work it off in the gym area. This turned out to be a delusional expectation as the fitness room comprised of a few hand weights which did not go up to more than about 5kg. I usually do cardio on the treadmill but the one they had there was not working so my attempt to work off excess calories was a bust. In certain parts of the corridors there was an aroma which felt more synonymous with parts of Amsterdam. I usually rate my stays based on the triumvirate criteria of shower, sleep and breakfast. The first two were great and the breakfast buffet quite average. I personally believe that this stay did not represent good value for money with the tipping point being the "gym". I would not look to stay here again."
