Hostels in West Coast

The outside garden view seating is very peaceful; shared kitchen has everything one could need and is a nice social space. The muffin for breakfast might be the best I have ever tasted and farm fresh eggs are a major bonus.

My first time staying at a Haka House hostel and I was blown away! They kindly let me check in early as my bed was ready and a towel was provided upon request. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm but it felt more like a 4 bed because of the way the room was divided. The beds were very well thought out with little shelves, a reading light, outlets, and a privacy curtain. The lockers were huge. Bathrooms were clean and shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were provided which was a pleasant surprise. I...

VERY clean. Convenient to town. We had a free standing suite with out own bathroom, refrig and tea pot. Also access to main housr kitchen and laundry facilities. First experience with a Hostel, and wont be our last.

The place is historic and has a lot of character. The room and shared kitchen were immaculate and well equipped.

We appreciated the manager letting us shift our separate rooms to one two bedroom cottage at the last minute. As the heavy rains came during the night, we were beyond grateful that we were not in a tent or in a small metal "economy room" with no bathroom! We were safe and sound in a lovely two bedroom cottage with a well equipped kitchenette, large living room, covered deck and a walking path to the ocean (before the rain came). We were only there one night, checked in late and left early, but...

Very tidy and warm accommodation, the only one issue during my stay was couldn’t find a towel at all, and reception already closed before 6PM meaning no one to ask. But I can say fantastic place to stay with overall impression.

What an amazing hostel! Comfortable room, great wifi, everything was clean, but what I especially loved what the overall character of the place. There is a big inner courtyard with plenty of seating and hammocks for guests to hang out. The entire place is painted with bright cheery colors. Owner was super friendly. Wish I could have stayed a few more days.

The host fantastic, we had the place to ourselves basically. The views were great.
