"Citizen M Austin pics look super cool online- modern/retro tasteful decor- but, in reality everything is way too small- especially the rooms. We felt like we opened the door to a tiny super modern, cruise ship stateroom or hotel in Japan. It was hard for 2 people to move around the king room. The pillows were set up so one person would need to climb over the other to get out of bed- odd! The shower/toilet is a glass stall in the middle of the small room/ no privacy or space whatsoever. The sink is squished in the middle of the bedroom/ no place to do hair/makeup if that’s your thing. The rooftop bar/pool area looked great in the photos- but was too small and closed by 8:30 pm - the rooms are all controlled by a tabletop iPad, which we didn’t know, so we had a hard time getting lights on/off, shades up/down,.. but laughed about it all afterwards. The staff was friendly, everything was clean, plenty of amenities and things to keep you occupied, if needed. The location was great- close to a lot of great bars/restaurants and parking. We found a street parking spot right outside hotel and paid $15 to park. All in all, if you know all of this ahead of time and are good with it- that’s great! We would’ve liked a little more space and thoughtful room design. "

"Staff was friendly and accommodating. Since it was Halloween week, they also put out a bowl with candy! My room was clean and spacious and had everything we needed."

"The hotel, the room, and the staff were excellent. The service was great. The location was very convenient walking distance to everything. The price was also very reasonable. The hotel was very clean, and the food was great. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone."

"The people here were really helpful. The area is very convenient and quiet. They did provide a breakfast, albeit very basic. The furniture here shows some wear and tear, but basically still solid. The only actual issue I ran into was the hot water boiler for the building shut down the night I stayed here, and I had to take a cold shower. Not the end of the world, just a little inconvenient."

"Didn't even get in the building, there were people in the building, didn't get to Austin until Sunday, the 12th night, didn't have a code to get in, searched in the dark for the unit, had to get grandkids an hour away at 9:30 PM, finally received the code got back with grandkids about midnight and searched units again in the dark and people were in it, called expedia (outsourced) had no clue how to handle this said I was late for reservation so I gave up my right to stay and left me with no place to stay thousands of miles away from home with my grandkids totally in the dark to defend for myself, went to a hospital parking lot to search for emergency stay at a hotel, found the LOFT and the attendant was wonderful, she only had 1 room for 2 nights but it was just too small but took it so I could find a place to stay for 4 more night....Thank God for her, no telling what could have happened.... Awful and despicable to awful.....you have horrible customer service because they are overseas and have no concern about anyones safety here, just a job to them."
