"A beautiful gem! This historic mansion turned boutique hotel is adorable. The original stained glass and carved wood grand staircase are breath taking. Keep in mind this is a 19th Century home, so the floors are creaky and the walls are thin, but there aren't that many rooms so it's not super busy. My only negative comment would be the ability for the room to cool down. It was a little stuffy and in our room the vent really only cooled the sitting area and not where our bed was located. "Booked a Riverview Room, check in was anytime after 3, we checked in around 4 and room was not ready. Initially told room was Mt Washington view and that house keeping was running behind. Lady at check in could not tell me when room would be ready and that we would receive a text. Asked other concierge and he comped our room $75 at bar/restaurant while we waited. Received text around 5 that not only room was ready but we were given a king size suite with our luggage already in room! Great...
