"Once you arrive at Grindelwald's train station you need to walk up to Grindelwald First gondola station. The sidewalks can get a bit crowded, so that can be a bit annoying especially if you have luggage. PLEASE buy some kind of pass, AND check the time your train arrives in the city, otherwise, if you miss the last gondola up and you are stuck. Hours of operation vary depending on the season. Also, check with the staff your arrival time as their normal checkin time is until 4pm. REMEMBER every time you go down or up in the gondolas you have to pay 10 chf each way per person, so.. do yourself a favor and find out which pass you need that will cover the gondola tickets, otherwise, like me.. you will end up spending 80chf to simply go down and walk around the city. Once you make it to the hotel: WOW.. The view is simply breathtaking. We had dinner at the hotel. It was an experience/view I will NEVER forget. We were literally eating above the clouds. The room was super clean and very spacious, and we had great view. Breakfast was great as well. Simple, but it had exactly what we needed. I really, REALLY liked the hotel, and the fact that we were literally in the alps was something I will NEVER forget. However, the fact that we needed to take the gondola up and down and were restricted by their schedule (I think the last one was at 6pm), makes me think twice about returning, otherwise this hotel is a GEM."

"It was a near perfect location for our five person Family. I preferred this location because it’s quieter, and it would be impossible to find a better view than the one from our hotel balcony. Recently remodeled room was the size of a small apartment with a massive wrap around balcony. We are definitely coming back and we found the staff to be very gracious and welcoming."

"Lovely hotel. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Great location, just back from the Main Street in the middle of town. Nice pool and restaurant and the rooms are really spacious. The homemade welcome and farewell gifts are a nice touch too. Breakfast is really good and included in room rate. Would stay again if in Grindelwald. "

"This hotel is so charming. The rooms are quaint. The whole property is what you would expect for a Swiss boutique hotel in the Alps. The setting is absolutely picturesque. The staff is friendly. The do-it-yourself laundry is a little bit of a hike and not convenient. There is only one washing machine and dryer. So, it makes it difficult to do laundry. I enjoyed the whole staff. The matriarch/owner could be more friendly. But, that didn’t affect our stay at all. "
