Fantastic Stay

Had a brilliant stay at the Horseshoe Hotel, proper cosy place, staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and very clean. Would definitely stay again

The New Owner and Manager knows customer service and is a great cook too. Apologies, didn't get her name. Both our dinner and breakfast meals were delicious. We wish her well in her new adventure and we're sure the hotel/pub will continue to thrive in her hands.

Property was being refurbished.was not told about pre ordering breakfast hence could not get a satisfactory meal,not even a fried egg,whilst I understand the property has recently been taken over, I think we should be made aware of this and this should reflect in the price.have been here a few years ago,but this time it was very disappointing.

Comfortable rural stay.

Lovely quaint stop for the night, a characterful period property in a beautiful area. Fantastic food and service from the staff. My room was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Smallish room as expected in a property like this but didn't feel cramped and shower pressure was excellent. Great walks available from the front door or a short walk away. Would definitely stay again.

Booked here last minute for an impromptu night away and had an amazing time. The Horseshoe Hotel is so cosy and peaceful, it was ideal for a relaxing break. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and were always on hand to provide assistance. We had our evening meal and breakfast here and the food was delicious, and the portions were very generous.

A great place

A great place to take a dog, they really love them, they don't just say yes to them and push them into the corner. The rooms nicely done and the food good.

This is not a very good place to stay. Has seen better days and is now being run as a way to make money for renovations I assume, or just to run it into the ground. Could use a significant makeover or lower prices. The worst place we stayed on the Coast to Coast. Only saving grace was the food was OK, not amazing, just OK. Service was poor mainly due to being understaffed I think.

Great value

This was a great hotel, in that it was old, and rustic in a good way. Lovely setting by a brook. The food was excellent. Good friendly bar area. Open fire, very dog friendly. The beds and bed limen and showers were very clean and comfortable. Just bits of dust on the skirting and a bit tired in places. Rooms had tea and coffee and a welcoming snack for both people and their pet friends Would definitely stay again .

Very warm welcome to a lovely rural hotel in the north York moors. Nice little welcome board in room with some cheese, bread and slice of carrot cake. Downstairs bars and dining room are cosy with open fires. The accommodation needs some tlc and updating, and a bit more attention to cleaning .. discovered the previous occupants contact lens on the bedside cabinet!

The hotel is beautiful and extremely well appointed with an excellent restaurant at very reasonable prices. It is definitely not pub grub but quality food and service. I would recommend to anyone especially if you have dogs as it is dog friendly. If i could find something to moan about it would be that the single bed was a little narrow for my taste but it wont stop me from staying there again i will just ask for a double bed
