Period character house with stunning views of Lake Windermere

Beautiful Lakeland house, situated in private gardens with ample private parking. Beautiful views of Lake Windermere, a 5 minute walk away and near to Waterhead with good pubs and restaurants.
Private garden with garden table,chairs and parasol.
The house sleeps 6 people (or 8 with sofa bed) with 2 super king sized bedrooms and a twin bedroom. One of the bedrooms is ensuite, with a shower. The other bedrooms share a modern family bathroom. There is a ground floor cloakroom with WC
We also have a sofa bed (ground floor) which can sleep 2 people. Travel cot also available.

This is a beautiful historical home that is close to town, with lovely hosts. We enjoyed our stay very much. The beds were very cozy and warm, the kitchen well appointed, and contacting the host was very easy. We would highly recommend this accommodation!

We loved everything about this house! The house is beautiful inside and out. The location is perfect and very walkable into Ambleside as well as down to the lake. David and Gillian are wonderful hosts too!

Property- fantastic. Many walks to forests/gardens/fells right from the property- Ferry to towns a 10 min walk. Grounds were charming- the kitchen is incredibly well kitted out for those who like to cook- very comfortable beds and the communication was great with the owners.

The property owners are tremendous. Everything about staying at the house was special, including the dogs. WE were there over a bank holiday weekend. The traffic was awful and would recommend staying away from this area on major holidays.

We were a family of 4 + 2 grandparents. This rental served as a super base for exploring the lakes. The property was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking evening meals and we enjoyed playing the board games provided. We also used the fire pit and outdoor space dedicated for this unit. The beds were VERY comfortable! Thank you for a fabulous stay. We will be back!

The property is amazing beautiful setting , characterful building excellent decor and facilities. Gillian was a a wonderful host helpful and friendly. The views of the lake stunning and walking straight into the fells from the back gate was so convenient. No need to use the car.

Gorgeous location with stunning views, this property has everything you need for a break away. We travelled as a group of 6 and found the check in very easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location with exceptional views a short walk from the edge of Ambleside and very short walk from direct access to the lake. Loverly proportioned period buildings with high ceilings and that feeling of grandeur.

We had the best week at wansfell Holme, the house was perfect. We had plenty room for 6 adults and the house was immaculate. Couldn't be in a better location and Gillian and David were amazing hosts, and their three dogs made our holiday. Amazing views of both the lake and the mountains and with direct access to the fells and nearly direct access to the lake it was ideal. We will definitely be back! 5 stars

Gillian is a very attentive and pleasant host. Everything is done to a high standard. The house is well equipped and maintained. It is minutes away from Ambleside and just across the road from the lake. The only slight issues are the Wi-Fi reception in the kids' rooms upstairs and the busy road which made it a little scary to cross to the lake.
