Tranquil Tide - Sparkling Updated Ocean-View Condo • Walk to Duck Shops & Beach

"My family of three spent a week at Tranquil Tide. It made an excellent home base for outings both north and south along the northern Outer Banks. The apartment was clean and well-equipped, and having a full kitchen made our meal planning much simpler and more convenient. Laundry on the ground floor (6 to wash and dry one load) worked well. All of the appliances worked fine and the furnishings were comfortable and pleasant. The apartment is well situated on the beach and with a nice pool, and the town of Duck is charming and quite walkable compared to the long stretches of suburban strip mall that make up most of the commercial areas in the Outer Banks.The apartment requires either a property damage insurance rider (60 for our stay) or a security deposit of 1,500. This wasn't disclosed until midway through the booking process, and I was a little annoyed by what I consider a hidden fee. Also, the linen rental fee is sort of tucked away in the individual descriptions of the rooms and not exactly obvious. I didn't really have a problem with either of those fees, but I was a little annoyed that they weren't included in the initial advertised rate.But that is a minor quibble. Overall the apartment was excellent and we are happy we chose to rent it, and we would definitely consider doing so again if we vacation in the Outer Banks again."

"Our favorite place to stay in Duck! The house is perfect for our group of four, it has everything we could possibly need and the location is perfect!!! Waking up and walking into Duck for donuts or bakery treats, coming back to sit on the deck with our chai, walking to the beach in two minutes is our favorite way to spend the week. The house is the perfect size and in the best location!"

"The kitchen was very well equiped though I didnt find the nut crackers until our low country boil meal was over. The pool was perfect and plenty of floatation toys for everyone. THe available beach chairs very plentiful.Location was ideal with beach and walk to town a convenient distance. Aĺl in all our family, including 8 grandkids, had a wonderful time."

"This was our third time at The Blue Box. We just love it! My kids love how close it is to the beach to boogie board and the outdoor shower to rinse off. The screened in porch is great It’s close to the boardwalk. Our host is responsive and the house is super clean! Definitely recommend! "

"Chris is an amazing host! Communication was easy, fast, and clear. The community is very nice with easy access to the community dock. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to walk down and fish as well as enjoy the sunset views over the water with a cocktail each night. Other residents are extremely friendly and welcoming. Great place to stay!"
