Columba Hotel Inverness by Compass Hospitality

"Unfortunately it was massively over priced but this was due to the Loch Ness marathon weekend. We stayed 2 nights and were very disappointed that we didn't get breakfast on the first morning due to having to leave early for the marathon. I think they could have offered to open half hour earlier personally considering that there were a lot of runners staying at the hotel! The breakfast the next day was nice enough though so no complaints there. They had no chef for evening meals which we weren't told about before coming up either so later Saturday night we had to go out and look for food which was tricky given it was a really busy weekend for the city! When we booked there was nowhere to click double "bed" so unfortunately we had 2 single beds. When I asked about it after checking my invoice the lady behind the desk said that I had to stipulate when booking even though I clicked double room!! The lady on reception on the day we checked out however was very lovely. She booked us a taxi and she was very helpful."

"The heating and plumbing on the property have some issues but the building itself is absolutely a castle! Dinner was very nice and there were excellent GF options. The staff was very friendly and helpful."

Lochardil House Hotel

"The room was phenomenal and they left the sweetest goody bag for my dog in the room. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was huge! The tub was great for a much needed relaxing soak and the shower was massive. The food in the restaurant was also delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and at home. I was so impressed with all of the care and details they put into their hotel as well as making their guests feel special. I will definitely be coming back! It was such a comfortable getaway."

"We had a great stay although staff didn’t seem very friendly. While waiting for our room we went into the bar area. Bartender disappeared and people were waiting. When we finally got our drink the waitress made sure we did not sit at any of her tables. Next day we had an early tour and only had time to grab some items from the continental breakfast. We asked if we could have a to go cup for coffee and were told no. Beds were comfortable and room was nice. Very convenient to the train station."

"Set in beautiful private grounds, always a pleasure to stay here. Staff in all areas are friendly and helpful. I like the spacious bar and lounges. I particularly enjoy their classic Scottish breakfast, with potato scones, black pudding and haggis."
