"The hotel is old but they have updated as much as possible and it provides a good very basic stay. "

2/10 Terrible

"Our room was in the building 4 (a separate building from the main property). This is a very old building asking for renovation. Despite the fact that the building has four floors, there are no elevators. The room was old and poorly taken care of. The thermostat was a relic as well as the small tv in the corner. There was a musty sulfur smell that never cleared despite leaving the window open 24/7 during our entire stay. The bathroom has a leaking sink (we had to put the trashcan under the leak as it dripped all night). Totally unacceptable for a room that costs more $600 a night (breakfast NOT included)."

Otter Hotel

"The Otter Hotel was just okay. Based on the photos, I expected a more upscale experience, but it felt more like a budget hotel. The elevator to our building was out of service for most of our stay, forcing us to carry luggage up and down three flights of stairs. Housekeeping was disappointing. The room didn't feel very clean, the shower head looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, the sofa appeared worn, and trash was left in our room instead of being emptied. The beds were also very hard and not particularly comfortable. The location is good, but overall I wasn't impressed and would choose a different hotel if I return to Banff."

"Everything was great! The hotel has an excellent location. You can walk everywhere from the hotel or take the bus just steps off the hotel. The hotel provides you with buss passes if needed. The hot tub and fire is great. We went end of April so it was not packed which was nice however most of the lakes were still frozen. Still Banff was magical. The room are kind of small but everything is so well kept. The shampoo and soap provided are from the Rocky Mountain brand which smells amazing and enhanced our days. Loved the lemongrass smell."
