"Casa dos Loios is delightful. The location is right in the heart of things, easy to find your way around. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with a lovely outside sitting area on which to eat. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, with good restaurant recommendations and help interpreting train schedules and directions. Would definitely stay here again should we be so lucky to visit Porto a second time!"

"We did not have a positive experience at Carri’s Porto Ribeira Hotel. The staff came across as rude and somewhat arrogant, which made the stay uncomfortable from the start. The breakfast was significantly overpriced—€40 for a meal that was just average at best. Unfortunately, we had to eat there once due to an early tour, but it did not meet expectations. The rooms are quite dark and feel outdated, lacking the comfort and atmosphere you would hope for. Upon checking out at 8 a.m., we asked if the hotel could hold our luggage, and were surprised to be charged €4 for this service. Additionally, the attitude of the front desk staff, particularly one woman, was unwelcoming. It gave the impression that they are tired of dealing with tourists, and that feeling was noticeable throughout our stay. Overall, I would not choose to stay here again."

"It was disappointing that we were not allocated the room type we had booked and paid for. We chose this hotel especially because of the availability of a room overlooking a garden. We viewed many hotels in Porto and chose this hotel specifically because it offered rooms with garden views. On arrival, we were advised we had been 'upgraded' to a larger room but without an outlook other than a wall!. There were only two of us, whilst extra space was fine, had that been our priority requirement we would have booked that type of room. Our priority was a room with a garden view. So this was very disappointing. Other than that, it was a nice hotel with attentive staff."
