"What a wonderful place to rest your head whenever in the Keswick area. The owners go out of their way to make you feel very welcome even to the point of running me in to town. Portinscale lies on the banks of Derwent water and is ideally located for Keswick and the Western Lakes and a stay at the Dalegarth is highly recommended"

"Fabulous, beautifully decorated bedroom with nice toiletries and refreshments tray. Breakfast was amazing, local ingredients (quality), tasty fruit salad, freshly squeezed orange juice and a surprise Easter egg on Easter Sunday. They think of lovely touches like complimentary cake in the afternoon. Have stayed in lots of places in Keswick but this place is the best. Definitely returning next year. Also staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They make you feel special "

"This is a lovely hotel/ B&B the staff are really friendly the hotel is spotless and the breakfast was fantastic, also it is on fantastic location great views ( we had a room facing the park and lake ) it's just a 5min walk into town, I would definitely book this again."

"Fantastic little cottage in a great location in Keswick with all the shops and restaurants on your doorstep. I have stayed here before so had no problem locating the property, the cottage was clean and generally in good condition with almost everything you could need for your stay. As others have mentioned the parking here is very tight and even though I only had a VW Golf the person staying in the holiday let next door decided to bring a full size Range Rover Velar which meant it was impossible to get the car out whilst all the parking spaces were occupied, not really an issue for me but if you do intend touring around during the day certainly something to be aware of."

"Location - The hotel is situated in a great location. Very much walking distance to everything central. Room - Very basic, the bed and pillows were not comfortable for me at all, but my partner didn’t mind them. It was clean. However, under the bed could have done to have been hoovered, I only noticed it because I dropped something under there though. Building - Being an old building, everything is very creaky. Our upstairs neighbours must have had ants in their pants because they couldn’t sit still and we could hear every bit of movement they made. Breakfast - The breakfast was nice! It’s only served between 8 and 9:30 though so if you want to be up and out early be prepared to miss out on that. I did send a “message to hotel” via Expedia to make a last minute request which was missed. It wasn’t the end of the world though. Other than that, it was a pleasant enough stay even though it rained every day! "

"Great location - quiet street close to the town centre bars and restaurants but with off street parking which is great. Clean room, comfortable, great breakfast and first class service. Would recommend. "

"We loved the cottage, amazing views, very comfortable with loads of parking. The bungalow is very spacious, loved the Love Seat room. Short drive into lovely Keswick town centre We had an amazing stay and love the Lake District."
