"We had an amazing time at the Avalon. It was comfortable, cozy and all of the staff were friendly. We enjoyed coffee and a drink every night at the Hollander next door. It was quiet and comfortable. It was a very reasonable price which was comparable to the big name hotels nearby. The location was great. We felt safe and we stayed late on the patio with no issues. We walked to many areas or took a short uber where we needed. The shuttle was great and we were able to catch it after a Rays game. "

"The property is in a very convenient location, the staff were helpful and the room was very clean. It would’ve been nice to be able to check in sooner than 4 PM which left us a bit short on time. It would’ve also been nice for the coffee bar in the lobby to be open for business while we were waiting for our room to be ready. "

"There's no restaurant at the hotel. There's no complimentary coffee or coffee service at all in the afternoon. The room was clean. The desk and chaimbermaid were plesant. "

"Friendly staff and very accomodating, decent breakfast for free. Valet parking is your only option, however the attendents were excellent and always had our car out for when we requested. Only wish the outdoor pool was heated as it is on the second floor of the building."

"THE ROOM WAS IN THE HISTORIC PORTION OF THE HOTEL. THE BOTTOM OF THE CLAW FOOT BATHTUB WAS RUSTED, THE UNDERNEATH OF THE TOILET SEAT WAS FILTHY, THE COLD WATER KNOB IN THE SINK DID NOT WORK SO THERE WAS NO WAY TO COOL DOWN THE HOT WATER ENOUGH TO WASH HANDS OR FACE. THERE WERE BLOOD DROP STAINS ON THE FLAT SHEET. EVERYTHING ABOUT THE ROOM JUST FELT NASTY. "

"Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Very easy and safe walk to and from Tropicana stadium. Breakfast had plenty of choices; quality was to be expected for buffet. It was a little loud during the night, but I think that was just the people staying next to us and not an overall problem at the hotel. We would stay here again."
