St Mary's church. The church > 890917 - 890930 - 890941 dates from the 14th century and was built by Sir Hugh Hastyngs, whose life-sized brass has survived: a replica, as well as the remains of the original > 890940 - dated to 1347 and executed after the design on the Earl of Pembroke's tomb in Westminster Abbey - can still be seen today. St Mary's has no aisles and the nave roof spans 12 metres, which makes it the widest pillarless nave in East Anglia > 890928. The communion rails are late C18 or early C19. There are a number of medieval survivals such as the C14 font > 890943 with a magnificent 15th century cover > 890949. C14 stained glass can be seen in one of the chancel windows, and there is a medieval rood screen dado with 8 painted panels; the paintings, however, are very faded > 890931. "This hotel is an excellent choice for people wishing to stay on the east side of Norwich. The hotel is conveniently located close to the main link roads.The staff are helpful and efficient. The rooms are to the usual Premier Inn standard so you know what to expect. I found the bedroom to be comfortable and very quiet, so yes, I did get a good night's sleep every night. The breakfast is served in the adjacent Brewers Fayre restaurant. I had the full cooked breakfast and it was very good."
