"I’ve stayed here twice and the reviews would be the same. Lovely building, nice spacious rooms with comfy bed, friendly staff, good amenities. The reasons that stop this hotel getting an excellent rating are: Each time I sat in the outside terrace area most tables were full of dirty dishes and glasses. There are not enough signs around the hotel to guide you. I went to wrong room to eat dinner and breakfast. I opened a store cupboard as it was next to the corridor entry door. The food at dinner took too long to arrive and needs some help with presentation. I ordered the fish cake that looked and tasted just like a supermarket option. It was overpriced."

"So after reading comments from others, good and bad, I believe this hotel has a two tier room system. The front looks good and is ground level. The back is seedy and it seems they haven't made any attempts to do even small things to make up for the dated rooms. The restaurant was good, staff were great. Room was not clean but at least the sheets were, which was appreciated. It looked like the floor had been mopped without vacuuming, small pebbles, what may or may not have been a toenail etc. Something on toilet seat and wall . Garbage can with very rusty pedal, mat inside door was very nasty looking. No windows to open, NO END TABLES. Hand soap close to empty."

"The hotel is nice. The hotel pub is the same. And the staff is polite. The coffee machine DID NOT WORK in the room. You couldn’t even put the mug (from the hotel room not my personal one) to pour coffee in it because it is too big. In the room there are no sockets. I wanted to charge my laptop and other devices, I didn’t have where. There are two “sockets” on one side and the other of the bed STRICTLY for phone cables. Meaning you insert the cable directly. That’s it. In the end I discovered the socket from the coffee machine and I dried my hair there with the hairdryer scattering the hair that was falling all over the mugs and kettle etc. At check out I was asked if everything is ok and I mentioned about the coffee machine and sockets. I was told that there are sockets in the room. I asked where? She said behind the television. I said thank you, I am not going to start moving the desk in the hotel room and the television to discover a possible socket hidden behind the television. People don’t go to a hotel to unplug the coffee machine, the kettle and the television. So that they can dry their hair or charge the phone laptop etc. All these should already be connected and additional sockets, not to unplug something from the socket so that I can use something else. For those who doubt that what I wrote would be true, or a possible reply from the hotel in which it will be said how it wouldn’t be as I wrote here, I inform you that I have videos from the hotel room."

"We stayed one night for a nearby wedding, and were impressed by the hotel. Friendly and professional staff, from reception to restaurant. Bath rather small, even for a 165cm chap like me, but everything else about the room excellent. Breakfast set us up perfectly for the day, too."

"Arrived on site, property isn’t as described - grounds dangerous as open shed with rubbish in unsafe for children. Empty beer cans left on decking, curtains ripped, property smelt really bad. Rude host when tried to discuss. weekend ruined and had to drive home. "

"“Restaurant” is listed but that is a bald face lie. Sure, they serve a continentsl breakfast (for an additional charge) of cereal, make it yourself toast and yogurt, but the only thing that makes it a restaurant is the sign on the door. It’s like a Live, Laugh, Love, Lie about a restaurant. The nearest pub does not serve food, and then next 2 we stopped at stopped serving early. The gorgeous wooden stairs are crazy loud, so if you are in a room close to them, each time someone goes up and down, you will know and most likely wake up. The pretty sitting room in the photos was off limits anf had chains on the door. This place is perfection in the pictures, but like an abadoned movie set in real life. I would recommend you avoid it. "
