"Very run down"

"This is an off season review: there was no staff available for check-in but a note on the front door explaining to call. When we arrived, we happened to see a staff person who got us settled into our room. The fridge didn't work and there was no ice available at this location or the sister hotel next door because of renovations. This is probably a great property when I'm season since it has a nice pool and walking distance to the beach. The room was clear. "

"Our room was clean, and check in/out was painless. For the very low price we paid this was a great *_off-season_* accommodation. When we visited, we found the indoor pool had been closed for a number of years, but this was not advertised on the listing, and ended up being a minor disappointment. The overall condition/upkeep is somewhat lacking, but this is forgivable given the off-season room price and availability. The ocean view from the 3rd floor is pretty good, the off-season sunrise/sets were beautiful. If you want to see the ocean, I highly recommend against floors 1 and 2. The location is really great in terms of distance to food and local attractions."

"This house was absolutely perfect for our stay. The projector by the hot tub made for the best movie night — such a fun and unique touch! Honestly, I can’t think of a single negative thing to say about this place. Clayton was incredibly responsive; I had a quick question about the hot tub and he replied within a minute or two. The location is fantastic, and the sound view from the deck was absolutely beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!"

"Pros-the house is great! Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Love that there are two master bedrooms on different levels, along with a living room on each floor. Very close to the beach, easy walk. Close to shopping and restaurants. Probably one of the cleanest rental homes I have ever been to. Cons-really the cons have nothing to do with the rental or the owners. The problem is the rental company. On vrbo it indicates that check in is 3 pm and check out 11 am. However, according to the rental company the check in time is 4-6 pm and checkout is 10am. I mentioned to the reality company the discrepancy and they were less than accommodating about this. Also, when you check into the home, every television indicates that the checkout time is 11 am. I have screen shots of both of these things and shared it with the rental company. They indicate that it’s not their fault that there is a misinformation because you signed a contract stating the times.I asked if it was possible to get a guaranteed check in time of 4 pm as we were all coming from different directions and needed a definite check in time.I was told I could pay 100 for an early check in time.I did not want to check in early, just wanted a confirmed check in time of 4pm.I should not be required to pay extra for that. I have rented homes in numerous countries with numerous different reality companies and have never had a rolling check in time. Also, power went out and reality company wanted me to call to report It"

"I am so glad i found the FCI for our first trip to the Outer Banks. We really enjoyed our six night stay there during the last week of October. Our room was perfect for us and the yummy hot breakfast every morning was amazing. We chose a historic inn rather than a hotel or airbnb because we like the more personal touch an Inn provides. Lisa, the innkeeper, was very helpful and friendly. Beth, the Manager and breakfast chef was super hospitable. With the beach just a short walk away...we could not have asked for a better value stay on the OBX. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip."
