The Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon
8/10 Good
"The room was fine, had plenty of towels and bed was comfortable. We ate at the restaurant once, bar service was slow during dinner.. we canceled a drink order because we never got it. Food was good other service was good. We were told bar tender was on a “queue “ not sure what that meant. Second night we went to the bar later just wanting to get a drink and not eat. We were told there was no availability.. I said again we just want a drink no food.. we told again to wait 15-20 min. Finally I noticed there were 3 seats at the bar top and asked again if we could go in.. finally they let us in. Bar service was very slow.. I assume this is why we couldn’t get our drink the night before. We finally had our drink and watched painfully as others around us who ordered food and more were waiting. One bar tender was “training” apparently as the other kept calling out the ingredients to drinks to him. It seems that more staff might perhaps be needed in the bar service area.. knowing that it’s difficult to hire reliable experienced people I understand just wanted to voice what our experience was. Overall our 2 night stay was fine. Thank you"

"Check in at 4pm had a bit of a wait. Room decor is very dated, burnt orange and brown. Suite had dual a/c units. Quiet except for guests slamming their doors."
