"The hotel is lovely and the staff was nice, but it was not a good experience. My room was unpleasant. My bathroom (toilet) didn’t work. There was also a problem on arrival. I had a terrible time finding the place because the hotels.com listing had no proper address. The cab driver who has worked here for decades had never heard of this tiny place. I ended up dropped me a mile away (where the dot on google maps was) after midnight and a long day of travel. Addresses are strangely nonspecific in...

"My party of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were 3 seniors, 6 adults, and 1 toddler. Paradisus was a wonderful place for us to meet, since we don’t all live in the same state. I loved that we didn’t have to plan—just packed our bags and went. The staff went above and beyond to maintain the property, making it feel untouched every day. They were accommodating and friendly, and I appreciated that they spoke both Spanish and English. I loved practicing my Spanish with the staff, most of who were willing to help me improve my language skills. The restaurants felt high-end with thoughtful decor, the service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. My favorite restaurant was Lemon Fish—I went twice! We stayed 5 nights and I felt like we got to try most restaurants. It’s not necessary to leave the property because they have everything you need for activities, entertainment, and relaxation, but a couple of us took a taxi to el centro do so some souvenir shopping. It was end of May and blistering hot, just keep that in mind. It’s nice that the resort has AC to escape to. I miss the staff and resort already! I’ll definitely recommend Paradisus playa del Carmen to anyone who wants a luxurious but affordable all inclusive resort experience. It was my first time experiencing something like this, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!"

"Second time at this hotel and it never disappoints. All the staff are exceptionally courteous and professional. The rooms and common areas are impeccably clean. If you don't feel like going out your room comes equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and stove burners with fume hoods. It's a great place if you want to rest, relax and recharge from normal life. Grateful that this hotel and it's staff add to the Playa del Carmen charm! Thank you. Denis D."

Paradisus La Perla - Adults Only - Riviera Maya - All Inclusive

"The property was beautiful and very relaxing. There is a family resort attached. It was nice because we stayed in the adults only and our younger family members stayed on family side and we could enjoy adult side as well as family dining and pools during the day with our younger family members. It was a long way out of town so nothing very close. A very hot long walk to 5th avenue snd port. Spent quite a bit of extra money on taxi rides to go anywhere. Resort is very amazing so you don’t need to go anywhere. But we like to get exposed to culture outside of fancy resort so we enjoy getting off property a little. Plenty of pools and dining. Gorgeous and tranquil atmosphere. Very spread out so be prepared to get your steps in which I loved but if you have limited mobility you need to upgrade to family concierge or reserve. I would definitely return. Due to time of year (May) beach and ocean was unusable due to sea weed. Overall a real jewel of a resort! "

"Clean. Safe. Quiet. Close to the beach and small restaurants, but far enough away from the tourist areas. This is perfect for people who want a quieter experience and a great beach, seconds from their room. It is also just down the street from Pranamaya Free dive which offers a variety of excursions. Great people. "
