"The room was very nice, has a balcony, television, some smaller closets, tatami matress, a middle size table with floor chairs and futons. The staff was exceptional friendly and helpful. The only thing that bothers us, was our entry room door, it was very loud while opening, we think it needs some oiling, but besides that, everything was very pleasent."

"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with a beautiful view of Lake Ashi. The location is lovely albeit a bit more secluded/farther away, right by the lake, with Mount Fuji visible on clear days. The hotel feels a bit dated (think 70s charm) but is well maintained and slightly upscale. There’s a free shuttle to Odawara Station, but taxis must be booked in advance through the hotel. "The property is relatively huge and everything is well-equipped. You will feel safe using the items they provide. The bath on basement is extremely huge and iconic for relaxation. Negatives are that you won’t have much space to open up your luggage. "

"Beautiful room, wonderful onsen, a bit hard to get to by transit but doable if you don’t have too much luggage. Weather prevented view of Mt Fuji but the rolling fog was mystical. Giant spider in room."

"It was quite a journey from the station to the ryokan. Well worth it. Elaborate Japanese dinner and breakfast. Outdoor onsen. The new part of the lodge is 80 years old. It has been on this spot for 300 years. Quick bus ride to Lake Ashi next morning. "

"This is a Premium high $$$ stay, you will feel very fancy here. The private Onsen is the best I have ever had the pleasure of using (it is 1000% worth the surcharge) The only issues I had with my stay were some inconsistencies with the online posting and the english room instructions they appeared a little out of date (for example they both listed a dinner that was not available for our stay)"
