"We only saw turtles when we went out of the resort and paid for the guides. The food from the buffet and room service gave us a tummy ache everyday unfortunately. The drinks were okay, there was not a lot to do to be honest. We had a decent time though and the staff was always there to help."

With four bedrooms in the main home, a large living/dining area, large well-equipped kitchen, an ocean-view backyard, and a large west-facing pool, it had everything we needed to both relax and entertain the kids for a week. The home was very well maintained, with large kitchen appliances, new power outlets, flawless internet connection, and comfortable TV room. The caretakers were welcoming and friendly. The same beach can be accessed for free if you enter from the beach side near the house, but if you enter from the town side, there is a $7 per person access fee.We spent most of our time enjoying the house, but we did venture out a couple of afternoons—to the beach and to a nearby monkey sanctuary, which I highly recommend visiting.Despite the seaweed conditions, this was one of those tr"

The backyard pool area is like an oasis. Beautiful pool and a great bonus was the hot tub. My girlfriend and I loved it. Restaurants in the area are very good. We rented a golf cart to make it easy to get around Akumal village but it is walkable. You can eat everything from pizza and burgers to fine dining steaks seafood and Italian. The house is very well appointed. We ate out half of the time and cooked our own meals the other half. If you want to do that just stop at one of the grocery stores on the way - food is all you need! The bbq and kitchen appliances including an espresso maker are all there for your own use. There is a separate casita in the backyard which would be great for another couple or kids. Overall it was a great experience. I’ve been to riviera maya many many times but always at a resort. I preferred the flexibility of renting the house. "having such a beautiful home in a beautiful place was amazing, we’re already talking about “next time”! the property was very comfortable for my family of 13! each room had its unique scenery and design, loved how spacious it was for us and how easy it was to spend time outside with lots of seating and shade, we loved enjoying the views from the pool and rooftop. plus the coconuts and iguanas! really appreciated the on site staff, they were a great help and fun to talk to!we enjoyed exploring Akumal so much, very walkable and new things to see and do every day! golf cart rental is so worth it for getting around too. we went to a local grocery store from the provided list for most meals but La Buena Vida was about a 6 minute walk and was a yummy dinner as well as the Turtle Bay Cafe for the fresh bakery and smoothies! plus the convenience stores were great for snacks and if you go to the pueblo around 5-6pm get the elote!! thank you Michelle!!"

"We had a great time. It’s powerful to wake up and be by the ocean. The second floor bedroom overlooks the ocean. Exceptional and friendly staff on site. Our kids enjoyed the pool and the animals, like iguanas, in the yard. The sunrises should be enjoyed from the rooftop. "
