“South Star" ocean front, sleeps 6, inground pool on ocean! August price drop!!!

We would love to have your next vacation be at the South Star. This first floor, end unit offers spectacular ocean views and is just steps to the pool or beach, take your pick!

***New!!***
January 2024, brand new bathroom, fully remodeled, new kitchen floor & new memory foam twin mattresses in the crews' quarters! In the summer of 2023, we welcomed a new AC unit ensuring your summer nights are not hot and humid! As of March 2022, all appliances at the south star were upgraded! Fridge, dishwasher, stove, washer and dryer!!!
As for the rest, it’s all amazing, read on for the details!

The unit offers one bedroom with a queen bed, two "crews' quarters" twin bunk beds built into the hall (bed safety rails provided for top at no up-charge) and a pull-out sleeper sofa in the family room as well as power recliner.

The family room has dual sliding doors leading out to the patio where you can sit and relax while looking at the ocean. Just past your patio is one of three grilling stations and to your right the pool.

The bathroom has a walk-in tile shower as well as a washer and dryer.

The South Star is deep cleaned after each stay. This includes all bed coverings, pillow covers, couch cover and tablecloth being washed and changed after each stay.

The unit has a dedicated parking space just steps from the front door making your move in a breeze.

The patio has direct ocean views, and the South Star is part of the last residential condos on pleasure island which provides easy access to walking and biking trails through Fort Fisher and the historic preservations and civil war museums.

Need a day out of the sun? Just take a short drive to the aquarium! This location also makes taking advantage of the ferry system to Southport a breeze!

The accommodations did not include bed linens and I was not advised of this until after I was on the plane. Some of the beach chairs are falling apart. The beach disappears during high tide. Other stuff was ok, but dated.

Great place!

This place was exactly as described. Host was very responsive and the unit was very clean. Steps away from beach and pool access. Town is quiet which we loved. The beach is easily accessible but not large due to erosion. Plenty of beach space overall. Would definitely return! Perfect for small family and couples.

Place was excellent very comfortable. Beautiful seaside pool.at the end of Kure beach.

Unit had everything you would need from beach chairs to beach toys. Unit owner was the best we have ever had. Responded to every request. All info we needed. We come to Kure beach twice a year and now, I will always book this unit. we use vrbo a lot our best choice ever.

Wonderful Stay

The condo was very clean and as described. This was perfect for 2 adults and 1 child. The owner was very informative and provided all the necessary details for our check in. Julie was the perfect host! The ocean view was very nice and having the beach access a few steps away made it much easier to come and go. The pool is also right outside the condo. The location is perfect - less crowded and quiet. We will definitely be back!

Amazing family vacation spot

We had an amazing stay at Julie's place. It fit our family's needs beyond perfectly and we will definitely be returning. The washer/dryer helped immensely as we were able to pack less for our three-year-old and ourselves. The proximity to the ocean made it extremely easy to come on and off the beach as needed. The pool right behind the property was our daughter's favorite part. Julie is a wonderfully responsive and helpful host. Stay here!

Great location!

Great place to stay for a family of 4. The location can’t be beat. It’s basically on the beach. Quiet private section of the beach. The condo was furnished with everything we needed to cook dinner every night. Would definitely stay here again.

Summer Vacation 2024

This property is exactly as described. Super clean. Literally a stones throw to the beach - easy getting our things on and off the beach - would be great for families with littles or older family members (on ground floor). The kitchen is well fitted, TV in living room and bedroom for late night winding down. It was just my husband and I, but we even made use of the sand bucket in the well stocked beach closet. we had no issues and did not need to contact the owner, but when we left she thanked us for our stay and wished us a safe trip - I feel if we had needed to contact her, she would have been prompt. It was the first time we have been to Kure Beach and we loved the area, a trip to Southport via the ferry is a MUST. Next time we will plan our stay a little better as we didn't get to visit long, but we loved our stay and are already planning a second trip.

Excellent Fathers Day Beach Vacay

We stayed at South Star for 4 nights with two adults, a toddler, and two kids under 9. The toddler fit easily in his pack n play in the bedroom with us. The other kids slept very comfortably in the bunk beds (I wanted to steal their beds because those new mattresses on the bunks were so comfortable - took a wonderful nap in the bottom bunk myself one day). The newly renovated bathroom was very nice. The shower is large and water was hot. The AC kept the condo perfectly cold. We ate most of our meals at the condo, even used the outdoor grill one night. This unit was so easy being on the first floor, the kids enjoyed playing in the sand right outside the patio. The beach and pool were steps away, and neither ever felt crowded. The pool was perfect for our kids, going from 3 ft to 5 ft. The beach was not very “big” as in you don’t have to walk across a mile of hot sand to get to the water. And the waves were fairly gentle and the sand not too rocky or full of shells. Plenty of crabs to hunt at night with a flashlight. We visited the USS North Carolina battleship one day, and the aquarium another day. The aquarium is on the smaller side, we only spent less than two hours there but it is nice for getting out of the sun. If we’d had more days we would’ve gone into Southport for a day. Overall, South Star met all of our needs for a wonderful vacation. Thank you for sharing your condo with us!
