"The property itself is amazing , note the wellness, gym and suana are all separately paid for and not included in the nightly cost. When I arrived the room had a broken curtain rod and ac not working. Just did not feel homey compared to the other resorts for that price. Also the vibe in the place is filled with security personnel breathing down your neck. Doesn’t feel welcoming at all. I loved the suana and wellness part but hated staying at the premises itself. "Loved our stay at the Hyatt Regency. The hotel has everything you need. The rooms are comfortable, although a little on the darker side because of the way the buildings are set out. We booked a club room - 1 king bed (deluxe) and had a nice view looking into the front gardens, with glimpses of the ocean through the trees. I believe the club option may not be worth booking, depending on what you’re looking for. The breakfast options and outlook of the main restaurant we thought were better than the club area, although the club area was less busy. The breakfast we had here was the best in Bali. The free evening drinks in the club area were extensive however at that time I’d prefer being closer to the beach for sunset and exploring other bars and restaurants. The pools were great for kids of all ages and the gym facilities were new and inviting. Staff were extremely friendly."

"We absolutely loved our stay. The resort was luxurious and beautiful. The staff were amazing. We stayed in the rice terrace view private pool villa. The view and sunrise from tje room was fantastic. The private infinity pool is actually quite big. The resort also has a riverfront walk which is really pleasant and you can hear the noises of the jungle while you walk along it. The breakfast and Peking duck was fantastic. And all the food is halal. I would highly recommend."

"The best part of this property is by far the staff. They are so friendly and helpful. Arjawa the bellman explained everything i needed to know about the hotel and the amenities from what time breakfast to how many times they clean the rooms. Pebri, Agung and Komang who were my servers at Brasserie restaurant were amazing always smiling and making sure I was doing great. Sumi was the supervisor at Brasserie and always greated me with a smile and also went out of her to make sure I was well taken care of. At the Bamboo bar I was well taken care of by Putra the bartender there. Amazing drinks amazing service. And Wirta also made sure I was great bringing me towels and always greeting me by name. The food was great at Brasserie I ate there 3 times a day if that tells you anything. So if ever you are in Ubud and want a luxurious place to stay and great staff to treat you amazing I would highly recommend The Alaya Resort."

"I would recommend this resort to anyone, the room that I had was not a good as I expected, but never the less it was comfortable and clean. The rest of the resort was outstanding from the location, the lobby and staff and the outside entertainment was amazing. There were 2 pools that were very large and plenty of areas to sit. There was a fantastic bar, and along the foreshore there were plenty of indepenent small shops and facilities to choose from."

"This is a legacy property that had been remodeled. The only hotel in Bali that has more than 4 floors (Bali building code, can't exceed the height of the coconut tree, maximum 4 levels). Personally I love staying in this hotel because of proximity to my family ancestral home to come and visit during my vacation. It has prime location to anywhere you want to go in Bali. 10 mns walk to Bali port, half hour to airport if traffic is light. You can walk , bike or jog to any neighboring hotels, villas, Caffe, restaurant, spa, shops, the Icon Mall, and anything else you can think of. Its location has the best spot for glorious sunrise and tidepool activities for the kids and family to enjoy at certain periods of time. The rooms are larger in size comparing to any hotel, I do like the guests activities they are offering, yoga and tai chi classes to salute the sunrise on the hotel green lawn by the beach was such a glorious way to start your day. Stretching your body while enjoying the ocean breeze, the yoga instructors are so kind to make sure you can follow the movements ( it has 3 levels to choose from, from easy to hard, you can choose whichever that your body can follow). Free one hour bike riding to enjoy with the family followed by amazing breakfast spread at Arunika ( by the pool) or Rosso ( on mezzanine floor). The giant lap pool isn't so deep, but nice enough for swimming laps or just to play around. Most importantly the staff from front to back are so nice and helpful."
