"Roadside motel with spacious rooms and dog friendly. The hotel is undergoing major renovations. We stayed in a not yet remodeled room, so comments on the physical quality will soon be outdated. That said, our room was well maintained but showing some wear."

Machias River Inn

"I really loved the location. It was central to all I wanted to do and see, and there were great local restaurants. What I didn’t like was that the cleaning staff for my room was subpar. Trash was emptied, thats it. No beds were remade or cleaning was done that was evident. When the bed was “remade”(one time)the covers were thrown over the bed and covered the pillows, a very hasty job to say the least. But all in all I did have a fantastic time."

Gardner Lake Home: Amazing views private and quiet 150' of private frontage

"Lodging was not cleaned prior to my arrival. Bed was unmade, garbage was full in bathroom and kitchen, used bath towels left in bathroom. Patio door deadbolt was stuck and did not lock and was therefore unsecured for duration of stay. No shampoo or body wash provided. Smoke alarms were low on batteries and let out a loud, shrill shriek every 45 seconds for duration of stay, including the one in the living room on the lofted ceiling out of reach. I was awoken at 3 am to the smoke alarm in my bedroom yelling at me to change the batteries. When I did so, the chirps did not stop in the living room. It's a shame because otherwise, the cabin was adorable and in a gorgeous location. Based on the lack of amenities and cleanliness, it did not feel worth the price."

"We just spent two weeks at this beautiful property with an amazing view. The beds were very warm and comfortable. The accommodations were as noted and perfect! Supplied us with enough toilet paper and paper towels, and trash bags and laundry detergent and dishwashing pods linens were of excellent quality heated floor in the downstairs bathroom was a nice surprise. This was our second time staying at this property book it, and you won’t be disappointed."

"Cozy cabin. Beautifully decorated with all the amenities of home. Bed was very comfortable. Amazing views of the waterfront. Enjoyed relaxing by the fire and overlooking the tide come in. Fun exploring the mud flats at low tide. Screened porch was a great place to enjoy meals and game nights without having to worry about the bugs. Convenient location to explore Jasper beach and Acadia. Highly recommend this lovely relaxing piece of heaven."

"The location was perfect! The house was very comfortable and being directly on the lake was a real treat. It was great to have access to a dock and kayak. We definitely missed that the second bedroom was an outside bunk house, but there was plenty of extra bedding to sleep on the couch! Very much appreciated the personal, homey details at the property."

"Absolutely wonderful! Property was amazing! View was amazing! All the info from the host was amazing! It didn’t hurt that we had perfect Maine weather either!Only note, bathroom is on the first floor and bedrooms are on the second floor. I did not notice that prior to our stay.Thank you! Would LOVE to come back any time!!"
