Waterfront Cedar Cabin Complete with Sauna
Our cabin is 20 years old. It was built by the original owner who was a carpenter and the owner of a mill. His attention to detail and craftsmanship are over the top. If you appreciate woodwork you’ll love our cabin. Fishing on the lake offers pike, walleye, perch and bass to name a few. A couple of years ago someone caught a 47” inch pike (at least this is what I’m told.)

This property was very nice, plenty of room for our entire family. The river was so peaceful and beautiful and we absolutely loved the wood sauna by the river. Only regret was we couldn’t stay longer.
We are returning guest! The host provides many thoughtful provisions. We really enjoyed the sauna and were hoping to be snowed in but the snow was removed from the lane in a very timely fashion. Sadly we were able to depart as scheduled. Highly recommend for a peaceful and tranquil get away.
We had a wonderful stay at the Cedar Cabin. The house is clean and well-equipped. The lake is so peaceful - great for swimming and kayaking/canoeing. Ed is a very responsive host. We visited with our 2 year-old and he had the best time on their private sandy beach. We would definitely stay again.
We got away for a long weekend. It was so peaceful! The sauna was so very relaxing! Sat on the bench and watched the snow fall to cool down. Couldn't have asked for more. Thoughtful host had all the "little" things on hand that made things so much easier. Would love to return someday.
This cozy cabin is a peaceful getaway. It’s well maintained and tidy. The sauna on the water adds to the charm We enjoyed our time there and look forward to returning
The cabin is far larger than the photos make it look, we had 7 adults with plenty of space. It was well furnished and in a gorgeous remote setting. The weather was rainy and cold during our stay so we didn’t get to enjoy the sauna or a bonfire but the amenities looked like they would have been amazing to use! The only downfall is that there’s only one bathroom but even with 7 people we never ran out of hot water in the shower. Beds were cozy, cabin was clean and smelled great, there were plenty of things to do and the host was super easy to work with!! Definitely would stay here again if in the area! Were in the UP for NMU graduation and it was only 15minutes from the school, perfect, quiet, peaceful, beautiful, homey location. Highly recommended!!!
Business trip that included a peaceful respite from the day
As usual, great communication from Ed. Cabin cleaners were running a little behind but Ed let us know so we weren’t sitting at the property waiting around to get in. Great sauna, great fishing, peaceful outdoor spaces.
Beautiful cabin. Lots of great equipment for water and other outdoor activities. Great outdoor setting. Wifi did not work well. Some of the screens also need updating. Otherwise a great stay.
A wonderful Cabin. We kayaked the river and enjoyed the stars at night. It was too hot for the sauna since we got mid 80's weather in early October, but the sauna is always a nice option. Many hiking and eating options are close to the cabin, so it's really a nice base depending on whether you want to explore the eastern part of the UP or the western part of the UP. Super clean cabin with all of the essentials.
The cabin was perfect for our group. The setting is idyllic, beds are comfy, and the cabin is well stocked with everything needed to cook our own meals. Nice family room in basement and living area upstairs. The sauna was much anticipated, however is hard to maintain its heat. Second stay here, and we were hoping for a hot sauna this time. The sauna building with screen porch is amazing, right at the edge of the water. I want a screen porch on my own! Still, despite the issues with the sauna, our stay was wonderful. Highly recommended!
Indoor cleanliness was ok, had to unclog the bathroom sink as it wouldn't drain. Shower door bottom had a fair amount of mold. Removed hair from the kitchen sink drain that was under the basket strainer. Cleaned the picture windows and sliding glass door that were dirty inside and out. Outside had to clean the deck and stairs down to the lake. Replaced half the string lights that were burned out. A few solar lights were out or missing on the stairs making a nightime walk a bit touchy. I really didn't think I would have to do so much work cleaning up even though we received a little off the cost for a last minute reservation. Ok, done complaining. The overall place and property is beautiful. Took a kayak out around the island that was enjoyable. First night saw the northern lights, that was great. Haven't seen them in over 50 years. Didn't try the sauna but it looks good down by the lake. Complete quiet at night, not even a sound from bugs. Very relaxing with food and things to do close by. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful and well-equipped cabin that is close to Marquette but feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. Ed is very communicative and super helpful for dealing with any issues (in our case, a blizzard that knocked out the power). This was our second visit, and it was just as wonderful in winter as in summer.
I can not say enough about our stay! The location was amazing, the place was as advertised (actually BETTER), and the sauna😍
10/10 will be coming back!
