"Our room was very clean but there were issues with our bathroom. The seat was very loose and the arm that controls the flush broke so we had to find alternative ways to flush. The hot water in the shower got just hot enough to use with the control turned to the hottest setting. I had dinner and breakfast at the Bistro. Dinner was just OK. I had a chicken and bacon quesadilla and there was almost no cheese. However, my side order of fries were perfect. Nice and crispy. Breakfast was very good all around. This location is going through some sort of changes so there was no alcohol available and few TV channels. We were told at check in that they were switching to streaming services."

"Best location in downtown Berkeley. Decently priced rooms. Comfortable mattress and bedding. Great bar and restaurant. Most helpful and friendly staff. Ask for a room facing Allston Way or the inside if you want a quieter room. Traffic on Shattuck Ave is noticeable but not loud. Whenever I've visited Berkeley in the past 15 years, I've stayed here."

"A very clean hotel on San Francisco bay. The staff is very friendly and kind. I have stayed there several times over the last 10 years. We love the cookies in the evening and continental breakfast in the morning. The have free bike rentals also."

"The room was a little dirty, it was hard to find a satisfactory temperature. The sink and the tub faucet are hard to open the water, other than that, it was good. Customers service were nice and food was good"
