The best hotel while in Kumamoto. Very close to all shopping and dining options. Very upscale hotel.

Loved the location of this hotel. Beautiful view of the castle. We were within walking distance of downtown but a little off the main street so it was a bit quieter. The hotel had a really nice traditional breakfast every morning. The staff was super helpful and polite. Very very helpful in finding things around Kumamoto. I really enjoyed my time in Kumamoto. Thank you KKR.

The people are great! The room was clean and homey. The free breakfast was amazing, and the free midnight noodles were delicious.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Sakura machi mall with lot of dining options. There is also a park next to it and in holiday time they put a Christmas market. The roof top onsen is the most important part, relaxing and fun. They offer free ramen and popsicle.

The R9 hotel was nice that we could park so close to our room! The only drawback is when it is raining the water comes off in front and when trying to enter the code to the room we get all wet from the runoff. Besides that, it was great.
