We had a really great stay overall—honestly, the hardest part was having to leave. There were so many fun activities going on that the kids were never bored (which, with two teenage boys, feels like a miracle). The water park and lazy river were a huge hit—so much fun for all of us. But the clear winner, according to the boys (12 & 13), was the foam party! We stayed in a swim-up room on the mangrove side and WOW… absolutely worth it. It was amazing, and the kids loved being able to hop in the water whenever they wanted. Definitely a highlight of the trip. Now… the only hiccup: the sleeping situation. We had requested two queen beds for our family of four, but instead got a pull-out couch that can only be described as “cozy” if you’re being very generous. For two growing boys, it was… optimistic at best. There was also no extra bedding in the room, we called twice and went to the front desk but didn't get any bedding until the next morning. All that said, the good definitely outweighed the minor frustrations. We had an amazing time, made great memories, and would absolutely come back.

Our room was always cleaned very well. Staff were all friendly especially as they looked like they were understaffed especially around the pool area when ordering drinks. My downside for the pool was the water was still too cold.

This property was chosen to accommodate our teenage boys. It was a success in that aspect. This resort has all of the extras, but the beach leaves a little to be desired (we knew this going in). The pools were very clean and had daily entertainment.

2 días no hicieron limpieza en la habitación , a la salida quisieron cobrarme un tour por $8,000 pesos que no contraté y luego me querían cobrar el brazalete que ellos me quitaron , tuve que demostrar que la persona que me recogía era mi amiga enseñando fotos con ella, avisé más de 2 veces que festejabamos el cumpleaños de mi esposo y no tuvieron ni un detalle hasta que me quejé ya enviaron unos postres , todo mal no regreso nunca evítense problemas no vayan a este hotel muy mal

My stay at this hotel in Cancun was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The room was spotless, comfortable. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the overall atmosphere. It was the perfect balance of fun and relaxation, making it ideal whether you want to unwind or enjoy activities. Keep your money look somewhere else before booking there !! This place is a joke I had a terrible experience at Royalton Splash Cancun and would not recommend it to anyone. The food situation alone was unacceptable. I was served a raw hamburger, which is completely unacceptable for any resort, especially one that claims to be high-end. To make things worse, the pizza place kept running out of cheese, and the burger station ran out of fries—how does a burger place run out of fries? The bar wasn’t any better. They didn’t even have mint for mojitos, one of the most basic cocktails you’d expect at a resort in Cancun. Service across the board was horrible. Every request felt like a burden. The staff constantly said “no” to simple things, and the overall attitude was rude and unwelcoming. It honestly felt like the employees were miserable and didn’t want to be there. The pool area was chaotic. Getting a chair felt like competing in a daycare—people scrambling and fighting over spots first thing in the morning. Even the ice cream stand couldn’t keep up—they ran out of cones, which just added to the frustration. Overall, this resort was disorganized, poorly managed, and far from the luxury experience it promises. Definitely not worth the money.

We recently stayed at Royalton Riviera Cancun and feel obligated to share our experience so other travelers can make an informed decision. The resort looks beautiful, but the service consistently ruined what should have been a relaxing vacation. On multiple occasions at different bars, we politely ordered drinks and were bluntly told “no” with no explanation or alternative offered. Staff would simply walk away and serve the next person, leaving us waiting just to order something else. It felt dismissive and unwelcoming. The biggest disappointment was the Mayan Cave dinner ($70 per person). Two people in our group are vegetarian and none of us eat beef. When we arrived, the fixed menu only offered surf and turf with no vegetarian options. We were told we should have notified them beforehand, though no one informed us when booking. We were promised accommodations, but instead received plain leafy greens called a “salad,” and were told the rest of our appetizers would not be served. After pushing back, only two appetizer plates were brought for eight adults to share. Vegetarians received a basic veggie patty, while the rest of us got salmon, while other tables received lobster and steak. Several courses listed on the menu never arrived. Buffet stations were frequently empty, sometimes the entire time we were there, and staff often appeared annoyed when guests waited for refills. Management listened but promised follow-ups never happened.

From day one I did not like the fact that we couldn't be guaranteed our room choice. We wanted two queen bed rooms for 7 people. Until the day we arrived we had no idea what we were getting. Royalton needs to address this mess because a-lot of people and experienced travelers like myself won't be booking there again because of this. Also, why have butlers if the only thing they do is reserve dinner reservations. No appetizers or wine in room and I am a VIP Expedia member. Another huge problem is the extremely loud entertainment up past 11 o'clock- its a kids resort! If anyone is looking to got here I suggest they ask for the mangrove side - probably a lot quieter. Staff was amazing everywhere we went but would not return.

Cons: - by 7am the pool chairs were all reserved - Making a reservation for any restaurant using the app almost impossible - We bought the photo package and we were promise the photo book by 7:30am the next morning and we checked until 9am that we had to leave for the airport and the book never arrived. - Selling the diamond club meeting before check in not a good experience. First off, the staff were not welcoming at all; most of them had an attitude. The customer service was horrible, and the room didn't feel or smell clean. I got food poisoning from this resort, which resulted in me ending up in the hospital and spending thousands of dollars. The resort is trying to downplay it, acting as if their food isn't the cause, even though I haven't eaten anywhere else, mostly just the buffet. My little 3-year-old son got sick as well, and even my mother. We all got sick from this resort. This resort is not clean, neither the food nor the rooms! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Royalton Splash Mexico will never get my money or time again. 0/10

This was by far the worst vacation we have ever taken. The staff was nice, but they were not equipped to deal with high volumes of guests. The check in process was awful. We could not check in at the main desk, they made Expedia members go down to an office practically off the grid to check in. Took so long we lost the afternoon to enjoy the pool. We also couldn’t get dinner reservations until the third night we were there. Had to eat buffet over and over and were told ‘sorry its busy’. Trying to fight for food at an all inclusive resort was disappointing, but when we finally did get into one of the restaurants, they were out of everything. The pool was also so full there were no chairs, had to wake up at 7am if you didn’t want to pay for cabanas. We were desperate so we finally booked one only to be told to move because they accidentally sold the cabana to someone else. In addition to all of this, our room flooded and nobody came to help for 2 hours and they ran out of most alcohol. Can’t believe we spent $6k for that, never want to book through Expedia again.
