"Not bad for the price. Difficult to get assistance. Staff was unavailable from 9pm to 9am, couldn't even get towels. Hot tub was reasonably warm but not very clean. Shower water was inconsistently hot. TV did not work unless logging into your own Netflix. Kiosk check in was a bit strange - a person on the screen to help you. Benefit was the pricing and the short walk to the beach and the Boardwalk! "

"La Bahía was a really good choice for our honeymoon. The location is excellent, right across from the Santa Cruz pier and beach, and the property felt newly renovated. Everything looked clean, fresh, and updated. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. We chose a partial ocean view instead of an accessible room because we wanted the better view, and it still worked well for us. For accessibility, the carpet was thick but manageable, the doorways were easy to get through in a manual chair, and the room felt spacious enough to navigate comfortably. The hotel is also right off the main street, which made it easy to roll up and down the boardwalk. There is an automatic door button outside the building, though not one inside, but staff were usually quick to help. The pool and hot tub were standout amenities. The pool had a chair lift available, which I appreciated seeing even though I did not use it. The hot tub was especially easy to use. The hand rails made it much easier for me to lift myself up, move my legs over, and get settled without dealing with slippery tile or awkward entry. Room service was also very good. The only downside during our stay was High Tide. We waited about 35 minutes for one plate of pesto rigatoni, and the interaction afterward with the waitress and manager felt a little awkward. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay and would absolutely come back."

"I had the worst motel experience of my life staying at Aqua Breeze Inn in Santa Cruz from March 25–28. I was traveling with another adult female and three children, including a toddler in a stroller. We were placed on the third floor with no elevator and given no prior notice. Carrying everything upstairs with kids was extremely difficult. When I politely asked about a lower-level room, I was told no. Upstairs, a cleaning cart blocked the walkway, so I moved it slightly to get through. Shortly after, a large male staff member came to my room while I was unloading and began yelling at me, calling me disrespectful and accusing me of being aggressive. He then threatened to kick us out without a refund, leaving two women and three children without accommodations. I tried to de-escalate, but it was intimidating and unprofessional. Later, he aggressively confronted a visiting friend about parking and continued to question her, saying he would be watching cameras. That same night, I received two back-to-back calls from the front desk around 9:40 PM, which felt intrusive. At checkout, they kept my deposit over a smoking rule that was never clearly communicated—no signs or paperwork. The treatment felt targeted and uncomfortable. Overall, the staff was hostile and unprofessional. I would not stay here again."
