The hotel itself is a little dated and unfortunately seemed to retain a lot of heat, which wasn't ideal given the recent warm weather, although I imagine this would be an advantage during the winter months. "Great hotel, but breakfast could be better We had an enjoyable stay at the Oxford Belfry Hotel & Spa. The hotel was pleasant overall, and the room, cleanliness and staff were all good. We only used the swimming pool in the spa, which we enjoyed, although there weren’t enough loungers available. It seemed that some guests may have reserved them while having treatments, leaving nowhere for others to sit. The main disappointment was breakfast, which wasn’t quite the standard I expected from this type of hotel. The fried eggs looked as though they had been sitting out for hours and were hard, and the breakfast overall was underwhelming. Despite these issues, we had a good stay and would consider returning, although the spa seating and breakfast could definitely be improved."

"Breakfast wasn’t good value for money. No fresh fruit unless ordered as your main. Getting around the hotel if you’re looking to use lifts a bit confusing. Bed was really comfy and room temperature easily adjusted. Food was nice. All in all enjoyed my stay."

"We loved everything about the lodge- it was so clean, spacious and all amenities were to a very high standard. The heated pool was wonderful, the animals so calm and friendly. Steve and Jane were so kind and welcoming. We wanted to book this holiday for our 6 year old daughter and I knew it was exactly the right place for her when she kept asking am I dreaming mummy! We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!"

"Have stayed 3 times at the Cherry Tree as it is convenient to visit our son and his family. Previously we met the owner and staff and able to feel confident should any problems arise. This time the only communication we had was via phone on booking in. The room was fine but there was no hairdryer and you needed a shower mat for the walk in shower unit. It was slippy and not ideal for a senior person. Tried to call but there was no one available. We stayed for two nights and there was no room service for the second day consequently no bottle water or top up of tea or coffee."

"It was the perfect place to celebrate a 5th, and 45th birthdays and our 50th wedding anniversary. The house is huge in a stunning setting with a large garden overlooking fields. Astrid welcomed us on arrival and it was comforting to know she was close by if needed. The facilities were perfect with a lovely pool, tennis courts and trampoline. Turn left out of the gate for one mile and you come to the local pub in the quaint village of Sydenham. Turn right and you find a coffee shop/soft play area and padel courts. We booked the photographer listed on the website for family photos so looking forward to seeing those and having lasting memories of a fabulous five days at Chalford Manor. Thank you Astrid and Garth xx"

"The Angel is situated in the historic and picturesque village of Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire. The building is centuries old which is reflected in the architecture. I had a very comfortable room and a bed that allowed a really good sleep. There were plenty of dining options within a short drive. I took a walk into the village which presented some wonderfully thatched cottages and buildings. Breakfast was really tasty with ingredients that were obviously locally sourced. I would look to stay here in the future."
