What's nearby

  • This was taken at the Kea Point lookout at Mt Cook National Park. It was an easy trek and the view was phenomenal. We got there just as the sun was about to go behind the mountains so I was glad that I could capture what was left of the light on those snow-capped peaks. The giant mountain there is Mt Wakefield and just to the left of it is Mt Cook, nearly fully covered by those stubborn clouds. The Muller Glacier down the bottom definitely gave the image a good colour contrast as well.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was comfortable and had everything we needed to cook. We could also see lake Te Anau and enjoy the sunset from the house.

Beautiful house very near the Milford Sound

I do not think the pictures give this place justice. This was one of our favorite stays in New Zealand. It was clean, beautiful, modern, and only a couple hours from the Milford Sound. We were very pleased with our stay here and at such a great price!

Great Quiet Location and Roomy House

Two blocks from a rocky beach (good for a swim, with water shoes) and stunning views. Quiet neighborhood close to trail along the lake. House has everything you need in the kitchen, a nice deck, and was super clean when we arrived. Note that if you want to use the hot tub, there is an extra charge (to cover cleaning, which seems reasonable), and owners will unlock it. Plenty of room for two couples (and there is a bunk room too!).

Friends and family booked houses close together. All walking distance worked well to spend time together for catching up and organising. House itself had everything you need. It is comfortable and warmed up quickly. Great location for walks by the lake. Garage for car brilliant for rain & icy conditions. Great views. Worked really well for me and adult kids. Owners responded quickly to any questions before we arrived.

We literally just slept here. We walked to dinner. The neighborhood appears to be relatively new and safe. The house was spacious. We only needed to sleep 2 but the house could comfortably sleep 8.

Property location was good and near the waterfront for a walk or a great picture. It’s a very open concept bare place with not a lot of furniture. This actually worked out well for our young children to have lots of run around/play space. The hot tub is no longer available to guests per the owners so I feel the listing should be updated to remove that. We were able to use as we had a prior agreement with the owners, but hot tub and filter were still dirty upon arrival. It’s a good place to stay as a holding place for your trips/hikes toward Milford/Kepler area. Thanks

This is an 8-bed property. It is listed as an 8-bed property with no indication that they will charge for extra for children. Shortly after my stay with my family of 6 (4 kids), I received an upcharge for children of $100. Had I known this to be the case, I might have made a different decision as to which rental to choose, so this policy should have been upfront and center (and frankly it is ridiculous to upcharge for 6 people in an 8-person entire-house VRBO).
