"One of the best places I’ve stayed in a long time. Stayed here with my son as a stop of point on a ‘road trip’ and what a place!! Hit the driving range and the meal in the restaurant was fantastic!! The staff were very friendly and even willing to have a joke and carry on with my wee son. Will definitely be back and highly recommend this place!! Would love to try a long weekend and the golf course as it looks to be in great condition!!"
Battlesteads Hotel

"We really enjoyed our stay for two nights at Battlesteads. Two things really stood out - the food was excellent (except chips - a minor thing), and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming without being overbearing. The last point, about how all staff were nice to interact with, was a major selling point and is why we will return. A special shout out to Dan ("Dan, Dan, the beverage man") for being so helpful and recommending Flyte - a top tip! Ad Gefrin sold two bottles to us as a result! Such a pleasant time, great food, and drink, and an impressive walking guide (which we used) and an observatory on the door step!"

"Room was fine, although the soap dispensers leave a mess on the wall. A pool area is closed but we could swim in the river which was probably better. Beautiful view from the restaurant for the ok food. Breakfast a little underwhelming."

"Clean well decorated room, friendly staff, ideal location close to the motorway to break our journey, dog friendly with good walks nearby, dinner very good, breakfast superb."

"Don’t bring a cat - there’s no room to swing it in the bedroom. And the TV was comically small. That being said, it was clean and tidy and the food excellent. Staff also very friendly."
