Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club

"A wonderful older property with plenty of history. Eagle Mountain House was rebuilt in the early 1900s following a fire, so do not go in expecting modern luxury. You get unique characteristics like an elevator where you have to manually open and close the double doors, though the furniture and carpets in the rooms is definitely tired and due for an update while still keeping the historic feel. The room was clean at check-in, the bed was decent, and basic amenities were covered. One practical tip: older buildings have gaps, so avoid leaving lights on. I left the bathroom light on overnight and found a cluster of tiny flies in the tub the next morning. Keeping all lights off when out or sleeping completely solved the issue for the rest of the stay. Staff was friendly, and the hotel restaurant offered a descent menu and we enjoyed our dinner and a couple of good breakfasts. The on-site golf course offers beautiful mountain views, but don't expect much from the course itself as it is not well maintained. Overall, a very nice stay and I would stay here again."

"Great quiet location. Beautiful views. Host communicated well. It's secluded so buy your provisions ahead of time. Nearest grocery store is a 20 minute drive more than likely from the way you came in. Everything you need from coffee makers to kitchen utensils is there. We really enjoyed it!"

"We had a wonderful 2 nights at Thistle Rock cabin. It’s conveniently located to the town of Jackson but you feel so secluded on Black Mountain. The cabin is immaculately clean and well stocked with everything you need. The host George is an amazing host. He answers all questions you have about the cabin and the surrounding area. He is a delightful person and we enjoyed talking to him about the wildlife and his love for the cabin and New Hampshire. You can spend half of a day just taking in the decor, the family mementos, the history books about the area and just how well built the cabin is. The wood stove is so toasty warm and heats the entire cabin and adds so much charm to staying at the cabin. We will definitely be staying at this cabin again in the future as we fell in love with New Hampshire, the mountain’s and the area especially in the fall with all the foliage. If you’re trying to decide if this cabin is for you… just know that it definitely IS and you will fall in love with the cabin and the host as well."

"Large kitchen with all the utensils you could ever need. Bedrooms are located so you have a since of privacy. It's a good ideal that you enjoy the morning sun as you get plenty in any of the rooms facing east.Host was very helpful and was able to answer all of our questions."

"The cabin was cute and cozy as advertised. Everything was clean and comfortable. I gave it 4 stars because the description made it sound like it would be more private and it was right on main road. We kept the AC on all night to mask the road noise, but we couldn’t keep the screen door open because of the noise."
