A friend and I stayed at this location for a few days in the autumn. Everything was as listed and it was perfect for our getaway. I would highly recommend this place for anyone I know looking for a quiet and quaint place to stay!
My husband and I planned a weekend away in VT, this cottage was the perfect place to stay! It was very clean, and in a fantastic area in which we enjoyed a nice long walk to the local lake. Would highly recommend to others!

Little Red House
This is our second stay at the Little Red House, and it was just as nice as the first stay. A nice, quiet location close to everything in town. It is cozy and fits all of our needs. We look forward to our next stay !
The Red House was adorable and wonderful! It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The location is perfect for trips to Wilmington and Brattleboro. We enjoyed our stay.
The house is adorable and perfect for a week outside of Wilmington, VT. Good hikes and kayaking are close by, as are several excellent places to eat. The home is comfortable for hanging about on a rainy day and a good base for exploring.

We loved Little Red
Excellent value with terrific features for kids. We loved the location (a <5 minute drive from the Raponda beach, a short drive to Wilmington and Brattleboro). The gas-fired stove made the space especially cozy.

Loved it!
The house was so cozy, and the fireplace kept it warm! We appreciated the heat sources in every room. Everything was fairly clean. The only thing we wished we had was a microwave but other than that everything was great! We also loved getting to explore the town and different shops!
Great location (close to Wilmington), quiet and comfortable. Tons of games for all the family (young children to adult). Loved the gas fireplace. Bed and couch was comfortable. Never found the remote to the bedroom TV, and tricky to figure out the living room TV. Felt quite at home. Would happily go back again. *Just know this is an older home and the floors slope going into the bedroom, so walk carefully in socks.

Snowy VT Trip
The house was really nice. I loved how remote it seemed and the snow was exactly what we wanted. It would have been nice to know at booking that the fireplace was not working since that was one feature we did really want, so we were really bummed to find out it didn’t work upon arrival. We wished that there was some sort of property guide as to how to work the heaters and the expectations on check out. Maybe a guide as to what to do or where to eat. In most of the other places we stay at there is a visitor guide or a house manual. Overall, we love Vermont and the cabin was just what we wanted for our quick family reset.
The cabin is cozy and sweet- we have a dog and small family and wanted to ski at Mt Snow. Cabin is short 20 minute drive to ski. Super cute town of Wilmington just a few minutes away. Go to Dots or Alpen Glow! Shaws grocery 2 minutes away. House has Pottery Barn vibes. Decent sized kitchen sitting and dining area. 2Bedroom 2 bath. This is not a house for a large crew but for a family getaway it was perfect. Street is quiet and residential. Neighbors seem really friendly. We would love to come back to rent in summer as well to see the lake right across the street.Bring your own coffee press or colombe if you’re a coffee snob - the little cafes were closed on Sunday!
I’m forever overjoyed with the way people transform small spaces and this cabin is on point! I never even knew the lake was right behind the place! How my dog and I enjoyed our daily walks along the lake road. The lake is a paddlers paradise. Most days I was the only one out there. It IS cabin living so you’ll have some occasional hard water experiences and the fyi g insects are hatching now so they like to visit. Gratefully my dog loves to eat them. Enjoy.! We loved it and will be back for certain!

Not as advertised
Too dark, furniture needs to be cleaned, inadequate kitchen supplies, inadequate lighting. Bed is VERY SAGGY. Windows in bedroom don’t open.
Bathrooms are nice and were clean.
Disappointing overall.
Tucked away in the woods. Small cabin with old-timey vibe. Essentials taken care of. Suitable for two adults with or without one child.
Comfy interior with the basics ready for your relaxing trip to Wilmington area.
The lake was close but accessing it was about a mile or so walk to a small beach.
Screened porch was our favorite spot although dusty and shared with spiders.
Lots of toys for small children, no lawn furniture except a picnic table.
Fire pit was fun.
No loft access to other bed as pictured.
Minimally equipped kitchen.

If you know what you want, this is a fantastic location
This is an adorable little cabin about 10 minutes outside of the small town of Wilmington. Guest service and responsiveness through vacasa was fantastic, and the house itself is really cute. It is a wonderful location for a romantic getaway (which I used it for) with plenty of outdoor activity's in either the summer (for lake raponda) or during winter for the myriad of ski options. For those reading multiple reviews, you will see that clenliness is the lowest rated statistic. HOWEVER I wanted to write this review specifically to address this. It seems that most people who rated this place low on cleanliness failed to realize that this is an off grid vacation cabin completely surrounded in the woods. Therefore it will obviously be a little more rustic. The cleanliness reviews do not do this place justice, it is wonderfully serviceable.

Well appointed but mildewy
This place is well decorated and comfortable. However there is a mildewy smell. Granted it’s rained a lot this summer, but they do need to deal with the mold issue. The cleaners also missed a bunch of spots- the porch is filthy, baseboards dusty. In addition, they left whole bean coffee and a coffee maker but no grinder. Lastly, not something the properties owners have control over, but the neighbors at the lake were very loud every evening.

Great location
Little Red was in a great location. You are close to everything you need, yet in a peaceful quiet area. Vacasa gave us an easy experience for our quick trip away. Our only complaint was that the home could use a deep clean. As a local host for vacation properties on Cape Cod I am always paying attention to the details. The Home could be 5 star with some attention. Nobody wants to shower with other guests leftover hair. The slipcover couches were dirty and stained which can easily be washed. The glass light pendants are covered in thick dust, baseboards dirty and the porch could use a sweeping. Kitchen is in need of some basic items and again a deeper cleaning. The bedding was fresh and clean, however it may be time to invest in a new mattress.
If you want peace and quiet in the Vermont woods you could not find a better place. It is obviously an old cottage (the floors squeaked delightfully) but it has been renovated and is very clean and charming.
The master bed was very comfortable. The bed in the other room looked small but it worked for us to lay our suitcases out. All bathrooms and bedrooms had heaters and there was a lovely gas fireplace in the middle of the living room. The kitchen was well stocked with pans/utensils/plates/bowls/cups. No spices so bring your own. NOTE: there is no microwave (not a knock on the owners. They didn't advertise it, I just assumed it had one.)
About 20-30 minutes to Mount Snow. We will stay here again whenever we are in the area.

We were very disappointed that the fireplace was out of commission. The pictures are very misleading, showing several pictures of a roaring fireplace. After reading older reviews it seems to have been out of service since September of last year. When we contacted Vacassa about it, all they kept saying was that it was no longer listed as an amenity. I'm sorry but when you show pictures of it working, people expect it to be working when booking this home. Also, the white fabric couch was pretty dirty - we put a bed sheet over it when sitting there. Great location though and at an affordable price. Could use a cutting board and a sharp knife for cooking. Wifi was in and out the whole time, hard to use phone/computer.
